Are you worth coming to? Think about this next time you are calling your dog to come to you. Recall tips: - practice inside first - start with little to no distractions and work your way up from there - reward your dog when they come!! You want to reinforce this behavior and also help them build a really positive association to running to you - avoid repeating the verbal cue too many times. Try to use it once and then use verbal prompts like kissy sounds, whistling, clapping to help guide your dog #fromdusktilldog #dogtrainingtips #njdogtraining #southjerseydogs #dog101 #doglifestyle #dogparents #dogtraining101 #puppytraining Does your dog come when call reliably?

Conditioning the recall cue 🐕📣 Teach your dog to come to you when you say "come" or "here." Try not to use their name in order to get them to learn the recall cue. Immediately give them food as a reward for responding to your call. Remember to reward your dog only for the recall action and not for any other actions, such as sitting. If you want your dog to come and sit, reward them for coming back to you first, and then give them a second treat for sitting. Always use the words "yes" or "good" to mark each action. Happy training! 🐶💪 . . . #dogtrainer #dogtraining #dogsofinstagram #recalltraining #dogtraining #dogtrainingtips #dogtrainingadvice #recalltraining #offleashtraining #positivedogtraining #adventuredogs #offleash #offleashlife #happydogs #recalltraining #dogtraining #puppytraining #dogtrainer #dogtrainertips #comewhencalled #realdogtraining #reallifedogtraining #RecallTraining

We often forget to listen to or watch for our dog's signals that they are done engaging with us. When a dog asks for attention, use the 5-Second Rule: Stick to 5 seconds of petting or scratching, then pause. Only continue if the dog shows they'd like more! Oftentimes, all they want is a brief interaction before moving on! #koreythekanine #weeklydogwisdom #5secondrule #dog #dogtrainer #dogtraining #positivereinforcement
