How I lost a few customers and what I learned from it. When I first heard the two dudes, I was incredibly bad at setting the expectations. I would tell customers pay whatever they felt was right, expect them to have the tools necessary when our company didn't bring them and not mentioning we only accepted a form of payment until after the job was complete. Obviously customers were not happy. The critical lesson is before making the sale, make sure all of the information is on the table. Do not go through the process and say Oh yeah, I forgot to mention. All that will do is drive the perceived value down for your customer setting the right expectations. Will save you from winning a sale today to gaining a long term happy customer.
