The Chino Hills location is also testing: 🤖 Robotic arms to simplify frying 🎥 Marketing boards for dynamic guest engagement As COO Jim Bitticks says, “All of these efforts aim to make Dave’s better and create a great business model for franchisees.” How do you think tech like this will reshape quick-service dining? #FranchiseSuccess #HospitalityTech #QSRInnovation https://lnkd.in/g9r6FKVE

Today was a sad day in the food world. While I had no relationships with Dom's Kitchen & Market and Foxtrot, I was heartbroken to hear they were closing two of their Dom's stores and 33 Foxtrots in the Chicago, Dallas, and D.C. communities. Many pundits will claim they didn't have a good business model, grew too fast, or lacked a focus on operational excellence—all of which may be true. I'm not privy to that information. However, losing another small grocery store chain will only increase the power and influence of the retail giants and tech titans that are increasingly seizing control of the food industry. Healthy societies thrive on a variety of food sources, each offering a diverse range of products. However, if we continue on our current trajectory, we’re paving the way for three major conglomerates to monopolize the American food chain. This consolidation could have far-reaching implications for our food security, diversity, and ultimately, our health. #food #consumers #local #grocerystores #restaurants #supermarkets #business #monopoly
Dom's Kitchen & Market and Foxtrot ceased operations Tuesday. The closure comes a few months after the grocer and convenience store chains announced their merger. As a result, 33 Foxtrot locations across the Chicago; Austin, Texas; Dallas; and Washington, D.C., metropolitan areas as well as two Dom’s locations in Chicago have shuttered. Not only the restaurant business was and still under a big pressure that is caused by the many factors that include but not limited to the #Inflation #Lackofstaff #Higherpayroll #Shiftingcustomerdemand but also many #Foodsuppliers have closeddown in the past few years which has accelerated since the Covid to date. The future of Food and drinks business is witnessing a lot of change no doubt . https://lnkd.in/ehKsaXXy
TGI Fridays unit count is plunging. The brand's website now lists 164 open restaurants in the U.S., down from roughly 225 that were operating in September when bondholders seized control of the company's assets. The casual dining chain's executive shakeups and strategy shifts have not stanched the bleeding, and the chain is reportedly eyeing bankruptcy after a prospective merger with its UK franchisee, Hostmore, fell through. Short of Red Lobster's shrimp-assisted sale-leaseback spiral, Fridays' implosion may be the most dramatic casual dining story of 2024.

I had the pleasure of visiting with George Kottas and his team at the Dawsonville, GA Walmart Ghost Kitchen Brands grand opening last week, and I have got to say, the pleasure was all mine. The team, space, ordering process, robot, and ability to get a burger in a lettuce wrap and loaded fries that included, to my pleasant surprise, pickles, which I liked, were great. I am looking forward to watching their US and international expansion, and also, to seeing Richtech Robotics thrive too. With offerings from Nathan's Famous, Inc., Wow Bao, Jamba, Donatos Pizza, MrBeast Burger, The Cheesecake Factory, & more, like McCafe, it's gonna be great to watch. Having sold GPO high ROAS enterprise content platform extensions for multi-location retail for a few years, I think George and team have a great thing on their hands. Their hospitality during my visit, was top notch as well. If you have a chance to visit a Ghost Kitchen Brands restaurant, I'd highly recommend it. Keep an eye out. And once in your area, don't wait. And shameless plug: if you want more organic traffic, cost-effective capital to expand, or a fresh breadth of B2B2C experience on your board, I know a guy (and gal, etc.)...! #restaurant #Kitchen #brand #expansion #Walmart #opentowork #Canada #Unitedstates #Greece #international #burger #chicken #sandwich #icecream #cheesecake #coffee #soda #dessert #growth #success #futuressobrightigottawearshades #innovation #qsr #payitforward #investmentbanking #introduction #capitalraise #boardservice #growth #seo #serp #organictraffic

Burger King's return plan was initiated a year and a half ago by its owner, Restaurant Brands International, with $250 million going toward 🍽restaurant renovations, equipment upgrades, and #technological upgrades. An extra $150 million was allocated for advertising and the company's #mobile app📱. To expedite the refurbishment process, the parent firm paid $1 billion💰 in January to acquire #CarrolsRestaurant Group, the largest Burger King🍔 #franchisee in the United States. The corporation projects that modernizing 600 Carrols outlets will cost an extra $500 million. Restaurant Brands plans to invest a total of about $2.2 billion, including this most recent investment, to resurrect the chain's U.S. business. By 2028, the firm hopes that 85–90% of its nearly 7,000 restaurants in the United States would have the same contemporary style. Wendy’s Closes Doors Of 140 Locations For Good wendys locations Wendy’s is permanently closing the doors of 140 locations after shutting down 100 more locations earlier in the year… And while this might be a tell-tale sign of hardship at any other company, this restaurant chain is playing the long game. Here’s what you need to know… The Future Of Wendy’s Locations At the beginning of November, when Wendy’s announced the closure of 140 locations… The company’s shares rose 3.5%. BUT WHAT’S SO GOOD ABOUT A COMPANY SHUTTING DOWN MORE STORES? Turns out, Wendy’s is closing these locations to replace them with more modern and up-to-date stores. According to Wendy’s CEO, Kirk Tanner… The closing stores were underperforming compared to their counterparts. He states in a conference call, “THEY’RE JUST IN LOCATIONS THAT DON’T BUILD OUR BRANDS… YOU LOOK AT A BRAND THAT’S 55 YEARS OLD AND SOME OF THOSE RESTAURANTS ARE QUITE OUT OF DATE.” These Wendy’s location closures will be replaced by the 250 new locations the company promised to open at the beginning of the year. Despite the closures, this strategy might work out in the long run. This year, many fast food chains have struggled to bring back consistent customers… Due to higher prices and skyrocketing restaurant inflation. Ultimately, the closure of 140 Wendy’s locations proves one thing… In order to keep growing your company, sometimes you have to close some doors.
