Erin Wiedmer’s Post

Finally some mainstream coverage. There are 3 bits that the author omitted imo: 1) “Regular” food grown with synthetics is laced with antibiotics (like glyphosate) and chemical adjuvants (like PFAS) which not only help the chemicals stick better to the foods, but also transport them into our bodies. 2) Healthy soil is completely skewed towards good microbes vs bad (as opposed to unhealthy soils which use synthetics, and indeed breed conditions which favour pathogens 3) the best food is that which you grow yourself - in a veggie patch, container or even window box or hanging basket. Then you know what you are getting - just watch out for GMOs or seeds covered in neonics whcih you can avoid by buying organic or starting from organic scratch. A vermicompost will give you incredible composts and recycle yr food scraps too (and it doesn’t smell even a bit when done right!)

Is organic food healthier? That’s the wrong question.

Organic is a niche market segment. It cannot scale to feed the World.

Growing it organically doesn't guarantee it will make it better, though better food can be grown organically. Some of the crappiest produce at the market was organic. As advanced farmers have demonstrated utilizing the benefits of some of the protocols are noteworthy. Avoiding the agrotoxins is a huge plus. Soils management and livestock husbandry are crucial and not taught at school. Energy management is essential as is using the right science of nutrients and their role. Given the choice, I would rather support an organic farmer than a chemically addicted cookbook farmer.

Seed coatings are one of the biggest crimes the poison Cartel is committing. It's not even correctly labeled in a lot of places. The reason for me to exclusively buy organic seeds or use my own.

Hello All, I hope you are having a great day! In my studies I found that chemicals become systemic in a tree or any other plant for that matter which are then transported into our bodies. Chelated chemicals allow the bond to pass into the plant via a salt chain reaction. Plants uptake these chemicals not because they like them or want them but because they are forced. I grow my foods using fermentation/compost and vermicompost and have not spent a single dollar on any chemicals. I get some of the best-tasting, most nourishing foods that really make you feel better. Soil is the heartbeat of your plant, much like a stomach to a human. Microbes digest down organic materials making them available to the plant for proper uptake. This is the only way I grow foods and medicines personally and the difference is night and day! Happy gardening everyone!

Wow great read!! Thank you for sharing! So many people are unaware of the chemicals that our fruits and veggies are coated in.. disrupting our hormones and causing inflammation

Bravo Erin! This is the righteous and wise trinity. Organic seeds and production, local, under our own direct control. It’s the path of lowest chance of pollution/contamination, best taste and best nutrition/highest energy!

Funny how what used to be 'regular' has now a fancy label and is called organic so they can charge you more, and the crappy, chemical laden stuff is called conventional. No wonder so many older folks are confused. Organic is what used to be normal 100 years ago. The new 'normals' is what we have to stay away from. My rule of thumb - don't eat or drink anything that has a TV commercial 😜
