We recently hosted Architectural Technology students from Middlesex University at our 54 The Bishops Avenue site. The visit provided an insightful look into the ongoing work and unique challenges of the project. The project includes site establishment, enabling works like piling, and current substructure construction, with superstructure construction to follow. It also involves complex temporary works to retain a fire-damaged structure and a basement propping scheme. The students were warmly welcomed, given an overview by our project manager, and toured the site. They learned about materials, drainage importance, and challenges of adverse weather. The tour concluded with a crane operations demonstration and a discussion on modern construction complexities. "I wasn’t sure what to expect before visiting the construction site, but once I was there, I found it both exciting and fascinating. It was such an amazing learning experience, and I ended up enjoying it far more than I anticipated. I can’t wait to see the project once it’s completed!" – K. Asllanaj (Year 3) “The whole experience was great, we learnt a lot about the construction process and the measures that take place in these sites. I was impressed by the preparation that goes into the site even before the construction begins and the health and safety protocols showed around the site. This visit really helped me to understand the construction process, and will help in the development of future projects. Overall, it was a very enjoyable experience.” – B. Palminha (Year 3) We are proud to support the next generation of architectural technologists and look forward to seeing their future contributions to the industry! #Construction #Education #ArchitecturalTechnology #ExperiencetheExceptional #MiddlesexUniversity #SiteVisit #FutureBuilders

Hello everyone...!! -I am grateful to share this new progress with you structural system course WYA+ waleed Yasin. -The course revolves around the types of construction systems in general and the systems fit for use in the architecture and adapted in the architecture to reach the desired architectural form starting from the solid slab system to pre-casting concrete and composite systems. -Egyptian code, armaments and concrete requirements to be available during implementation, as well as American code. -Then apply some projects like residential villa and so on. -The final project in the course was the distribution of the structural system of study buildings containing administrative rooms, staff offices, classrooms, halls and gathering places with different dimensions. -Several structural systems have been used, including solid slab, paneled beams and frames depending on the nature of the building and activity within the vacuum. - I recommend WYA platform it has useful courses for undergraduate student. - Thanks, Dr/ Waleed Yasin for your efforts. #Standards #WorkingGroups #WorkingGroupCoordination #Habitats #HabitatTeams #HabitatTeamCoordination #TransitionTeams #TransitionTeamCoordination

#MichaelJCrosbie talks to #MichaelMonti, executive director of #AssociationofCollegiateSchoolsofArchitecture, about architecture education: "People are vulnerable, and that’s one of the main reasons for professions. Professionals are licensed and given a specific scope of work, and they can’t just give clients what they want. Professionals have 'dangerous knowledge,' to quote Daniel Friedman. Buildings can harm people if they fall down. As an architect, you need a professional education based on ethical foundations and values to contribute to a more civilized life." https://lnkd.in/egrYuj6j

🔨The Engineering Elegance of a Three-Centered Arch 🏛️ As a civil engineering student at **NED University**, I’ve come to appreciate the beauty and precision that goes into structural design. One of the most fascinating elements we've studied recently is the **three-centered arch**—a structural marvel used in bridge design, vaults, and even historic architecture. What makes the three-centered arch unique is its ability to combine **strength** and **aesthetic appeal**. Unlike traditional circular arches, it’s made up of three different radii, giving it an elongated, more versatile form. This design is particularly effective in distributing loads evenly across larger spans, making it both efficient and elegant. At NED, our focus on such innovative designs helps us not only understand engineering principles but also teaches us to respect the balance between function and beauty. Whether it’s modern bridges or historical monuments, the three-centered arch stands as a testament to the creativity of civil engineers. Excited to continue learning and applying these concepts to future projects!
