Experience is not just about the time spent in a company, but about the quality of that time. It's about what you've learned, achieved, and the impact you've made. Being in a company for 5 or 7 years doesn't necessarily mean you've accumulated equivalent experience. You might be: 📌Doing the same tasks repeatedly without any significant challenges or growth. 📌Not taking on new responsibilities or projects. 📌Not learning new skills or adapting to changes in your field. 📌Simply going through the motions, without much impact or achievement. On the other hand, someone who has been in a firm for just 2 years might have: 📌Taken on diverse projects and responsibilities. 📌Developed new skills and expertise. 📌Faced and overcome significant challenges. 📌Made meaningful contributions to the company's growth and success. Now, who would you say has more experience? #yourhrfriend

💡 𝐑𝐞𝐚𝐥 𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐤 𝐄𝐱𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞: 𝐌𝐨𝐫𝐞 𝐓𝐡𝐚𝐧 𝐉𝐮𝐬𝐭 𝐚 𝐑𝐞𝐬𝐮𝐦𝐞 💡 As someone who has been in the workforce for some time now, I've realized there's a significant difference between actual work experience and what's written on paper. 🔹 𝐑𝐞𝐬𝐮𝐦𝐞𝐬 may list impressive skills and accomplishments, but it's your on-the-job experience that truly defines your abilities. 🔹 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐭 𝐋𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐆𝐫𝐨𝐰𝐭𝐡: It's not just about the years spent in a job, but the challenges faced and solutions developed. 🔹 𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐲 𝐑𝐞𝐥𝐞𝐯𝐚𝐧𝐭: If you're not learning something new every month, you're not truly gaining valuable experience. Seek out new challenges and opportunities for growth to stay competitive. 🔹 𝐄𝐱𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐌𝐚𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐬: It's about the problems tackled and solutions developed, not just job tenure. If you're not learning in your current job, it may be time for a change. 🔹 𝐏𝐮𝐬𝐡 𝐘𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐬𝐞𝐥𝐟: Don't be afraid to seek out new challenges and push yourself to learn and grow. This enhances your skills and opens up exciting new opportunities and career paths. 🌟 𝑅𝑒𝑚𝑒𝑚𝑏𝑒𝑟, 𝑔𝑟𝑜𝑤𝑡ℎ 𝑎𝑛𝑑 𝑒𝑥𝑝𝑒𝑟𝑖𝑒𝑛𝑐𝑒 𝑐𝑜𝑚𝑒 𝑓𝑟𝑜𝑚 𝑐ℎ𝑎𝑙𝑙𝑒𝑛𝑔𝑒𝑠 𝑎𝑛𝑑 𝑙𝑒𝑎𝑟𝑛𝑖𝑛𝑔. #job #growth #career #experience #environment #opportunities

Why Is Experience Always a Requirement? It’s something I’ve been reflecting on lately. Why do most job postings demand years of experience? What about those with fresh, cutting-edge skills who are ready to make a difference but haven’t been given the chance yet? How can anyone gain experience if no one is willing to take a chance on them? It feels like a never-ending loop. Practical experience is important, but so is innovation, passion, and a willingness to learn. People with fresh skills bring new perspectives, energy, and creativity that can spark real change. Yet, it seems many hiring managers overlook this potential in favor of "years served." What if we shifted our mindset? Instead of only looking at experience, let’s consider a person’s drive, their ability to adapt, and the fresh ideas they can offer. Because let’s face it, every expert was once a beginner. It’s time to give fresh talent the opportunities they deserve! #FreshSkills #BreakTheCycle #HiringInnovation #OpportunityForAll #TalentOverExperience

You’re not exactly what we’re looking for: I was a fresh graduate seeking a job; and eventually found one I was really interested in. During my final interview, I was told “You’re not exactly what we’re looking for, but we’ll give you a chance.” So I took it, and gave the job my very best. And when I eventually resigned, I was asked, “What can we do to make you stay?” On a different occasion and I was applying for another job, I found a company I was really interested in. Interestingly, I heard similar words spoken: “You’re a wild card, but we’ll give you a chance.” So I took it, and gave the job my very best; and this job led to many other opportunities. Life’s like that at times. We’re presented with situations or options where we may not be someone’s first choice, or the situation might not seem ideal to us. It can be good to pass on something which may not be aligned with what we’re really seeking, or what we need; But sometimes, it’s also good to give something a chance – and give it your best shot. So what if you’re not someone’s first choice – show them that you were the best choice after all. So what if a situation doesn’t seem ideal? Make the most that you can out of it, and come out a better person. Just because something may not exactly be what you or they are looking for, doesn’t mean you can’t be the right person for that opportunity or situation after all. (I first shared this post a year ago. Re-sharing it in case it's a message you may find helpful today ❤️) . . . #superwithcooper #insights #opportunity #job #jobapplications
