📣 Job alert: Junior No-code engineer for EasyV EV Fleet Operations SaaS
Frontend/ fullstack devs willing to explore no-code can also apply(you will love it).
At Driveo, we are diving deep into No code and the reasons we decided to do this were a little different than the usual “No-code is a cheaper way to build a prototype”. After getting hands on with Bubble (also explored flutterflow, xano & others), what really blew me away:
1) Figma like editor for building beautiful responsive UI for our customers. Small improvements that usually get put off for 2-3 months, can be done in minutes. Designers love this TAT.
2) Hyper customisation: As SaaS consumers, I’m sure all of us have thought “If this feature could be tweaked, it would be much more useful to me”. Most B2B SaaS players do “promise” customisation (very passionately too during the sales cycle :P ) but when you actually go down that route, it usually ends up being too expensive, time consuming and buggy. No-code with its quick turnaround times looks like a good solution to this problem (especially when mixed with generative AI)
3) No DevOps & Infra stress during PMF. At a stage when we just want to focus on building and testing for market fit, we don’t want to spend too much time managing infra. Another win for no-code.
4) Good community and support: If we are blocked, the Bubble forum or the Indian bubblers WhatsApp group are great resources to get unstuck. Can't remember a single issue that hasn’t gotten resolved in 2-3 days.
Not saying no-code will be an all rosy journey. We have struggled with a few issues:
1) Availability of high quality resources: While it is super easy to build great apps with no engineering background, it doesn’t stop being an engineering task. A lot of talent out there is treating no-code like a prototype builder and not taking the time to learn about performance, security and architectural best practices.
2) Learning curve of the no-code tool. Bubble is really well documented for beginner use cases but if you want to build production scale apps with high processing then you need a much deeper understanding of core principles of Bubble. I discover something new every week even after having built 3 production scale apps over the last 9 months
3) If you build on Bubble, you are essentially locked-in as it doesn’t export code. Flutterflow is slowly becoming as capable as bubble and does allow code export so we will be keeping a close eye on this space.
To summarise, if you’re a junior full-stack or a frontend developer who aspires to learn the full stack, do consider this profile. Yogini Maindola, our no-code engineering head, is a great person to be working with. The problem statement of making commercial EV fleet ops easily manageable is also a very interesting and technically challenging one (we process hundreds of data points every minute across hundreds of EVs to generate super useful insights and management features).
