In a casual and relaxed environment, he shared so many incredible nuggets from his recent book - “Playing from the Rough.” Here are a few takeaways: - Work not only to make a living, but work to make a difference - Making a mistake will not end your career but not owning it WILL - Leadership is not a position; instead think about ‘what are we trying to achieve in the company and what capacities can I bring to the table?’ Thank you for all your wisdom. #erykatwellborn #theunforgettableengineer #femaleengineers #feminineleadership

Soul care is about more than self-care routines...it’s about realigning yourself. Here’s a few ideas from my inner peace playbook. 🌳 Walk Barefoot in Nature – Ground yourself by feeling the earth beneath you. I typically do this in my backyard. It’s a simple yet powerful way to reconnect and recharge. First, dis-connect from all electronics. Then, close your eyes and take deep, relaxing breaths. Be in the moment. 💃 Dance with Total Abandonment – Move your body without the pressure of performing. I take belly dance classes on Saturdays with the intention of simply having fun. It’s not about how I look, rather it’s about how I feel. 🎼 Sound Therapy with the Solfeggio Scale – These ancient frequencies are designed to heal and align your energy. When I was first healing from my divorce, I listened to 417Hz to undo negative situations and facilitate life changes. I would put my earbuds in while retiring at night and fall asleep listening to the frequency. I used to think I could do it all - work full-time, raise my three kids, lead at church, and still show up for everyone else’s needs. But the truth? I was exhausted, overwhelmed, and burned out. It wasn’t until COVID that I got a chance to reevaluate. I learned that to reclaim my energy and peace, I had to release commitments that no longer served me. I began choosing me...incorporating walks in nature, dancing to uplift my mood and reduce stress, and using sound therapy to reset.
