Celebrating innovation at graduation as our first Airbus Space Accelerator concludes following an epic 14-week journey travelling beyond the stars! 🪐 In partnership with Airbus Defence and Space, Plexal has supported nine groundbreaking companies through an initiative designed to collaboratively propel innovative technologies to new heights 🚀 A huge congratulations to our cohort including ANGOKA, Applied Atomics, Aquark Technologies, BioOrbit, Calnex Solutions, D-RisQ Ltd, LIA Aerospace, Magdrive and Yondar Space for successfully completing the programme! 👏 💬 Commenting on the project, Plexal CEO Andrew Roughan said: "We've found 600 organisations, down selected to 150. We're proud to have launched the Space Accelerator programme with Airbus, which highlights nine of those companies to meet the needs of Airbus and the end user." 💬 Vanessa Viney, UK & US Innovations Manager at Airbus Defence and Space, added: "SMEs and startups are absolutely vital for someone like Airbus. They're agile, can work at speed and come with great ideas. And if we look at the ecosystem overall, the diversity we can have is amazing." Bringing global innovation home 🤝 We're excited to share that Barbara Ghinelli, Director of Innovation Clusters and Harwell Campus, has this week signed a groundbreaking Memorandum of Understanding and Letter of Intent on behalf of Harwell Science and Innovation Campus with Japan's cross U, alongside Centre National d'Études Spatiales and European Space Agency - ESA. Agreements like this one help us grow our links to business and industry at our research and innovation campuses. This latest agreement will: 🤝 Strengthen collaboration between Japanese and European space sectors 🌟 Open new opportunities for joint research, innovation, and expansion 🚀 Reinforce the parties' commitment to building a sustainable and collaborative space industry. 📣 WORLDING is back! 🌍 WORLDING ignites the co-creation of climate future stories that lead to real-world impact. Founded in 2021, this research and incubation initiative bridges storytelling in virtual environments with community wisdom and land-based placemaking. This year, WORLDING will convene at MIT for an in-person incubator rooted in: - Social XR - Data visualization - Indigenous-led storytelling By weaving together documentary, game engine technology, land-use planning, and climate science, WORLDING inspires real-world impact. WORLDING acknowledges Indigenous ways of knowing as vital to motivating the co-creation of our collective, just and thriving climate future. Indigenous-led projects and perspectives are at the core of the WORLDING.
