Each project we work on tells its own story, but some leave us with something truly special. 💡✨ This was the case with Torre Velasca, an iconic symbol of Milan that we had the privilege of illuminating with our lighting design project thanks to Hines Italy. Casting new light on such a historic building is both a great responsibility and an extraordinary opportunity to feel deeply moved. Illuminating Torre Velasca meant careful study, meticulous attention, and profound respect. A tailor-made project crafted to enhance the beauty and historical significance of the building, without ever altering its essence. And when the Torre finally lights up and comes to life, it’s impossible not to feel a touch of pride. We hope this light will inspire and move everyone who admires it during this holiday season—inviting you to stop, look up, and light up your wish. Our wish? To keep taking on projects that challenge and inspire us, just like this one. 🌟 Read more: https://lnkd.in/dbeE5i_K #Torrevelasca #LightingDesign #Lighting #Milan #Emotion #design

"Craftsmanship isn’t just something you see—it’s something you feel." 🦁 ❤️ ✨ At Lionheart, we know the best spaces and client experiences are those that make history. Inspired by architectural icons like Lisbon’s Mosteiro dos Jerónimos, we craft each project with an unwavering dedication to design, strength, and purpose. Recently, our president, Austin, visited Portugal and experienced this 16th Century Historic site firsthand, bringing back inspiration for Lionheart's value in creating spaces with timeless appeal. Whether we’re building new or transforming existing residential and commercial spaces, every project at Lionheart is rooted in a tailored journey. We collaborate closely with designers and our clients to ensure each step reflects their unique vision and that the final result is a space designed to inspire and endure. Arkkitehdit NRT has successfully renovated Alvar Aalto's iconic Finlandia Hall, originally designed in 1971 for diverse events. This revitalization balances respect for Aalto's visionary design while introducing modern amenities and additional spaces, making it more accessible to both locals and tourists. As a designer, I often reflect on how crucial it is to preserve cultural heritage while adapting to contemporary needs. This project is an exemplary case of harmonizing the old with the new. Have you been involved in projects where heritage meets innovation? What challenges and successes did you experience? The renovation included the restoration of Aalto's original furnishings and improvements to the building's functionality. New features such as a restaurant, wine bar, and exhibition space have transformed Finlandia Hall into a vibrant leisure destination for everyone. Studies show that accessible cultural spaces can significantly improve community engagement and tourism. I'd love to hear your thoughts on the balance between preserving architectural history and embracing modern functionality. Where do you draw the line between renovation and preservation in your own work? #rendimension #hugoramirezarchitect #renderings #vrtraining www.rendimension.com Full article "Arkkitehdit NRT renovates Alvar Aalto's Finlandia Hall in Helsinki" Link: https://lnkd.in/gsjP55jW

Incorporating **biophilic design** into urban landscapes is more than just an aesthetic choice—it’s a way to reconnect city dwellers with nature, enhancing well-being and productivity. This picture from Porto in Portugal is a great example of how cities can integrate natural elements, even in highly built-up areas. Notice how the **greenery** around historical monuments and public spaces contrasts with the urban structures, providing both a visual and emotional reprieve. The trees and open spaces soften the cityscape, making it more inviting and healthier for residents and tourists alike. **Biophilic design** promotes: - **Mental well-being:** Exposure to nature reduces stress and increases focus. - **Social interaction:** Green spaces encourage people to gather and engage. - **Sustainability:** Natural environments promote eco-consciousness and improve air quality. As urban populations grow, it's vital that we embrace nature-inspired designs in our cities to foster a healthier, more connected community. #UrbanDesign #Sustainability #BiophilicDesign #Porto

Casa Alma was a dedicated exhibition unit created for CASACOR, São Paulo’s premier festival of architecture and interior design, designed to provide a sensory environment where visitors could reconnect with their senses. This physical space explored perceptions and feelings through carefully curated textures and spatial design. Visitors wore Apple Watches that captured their heartbeats and movements, which were transformed into real-time artworks inspired by the design elements within Casa Alma. André Mattos and Gabriel Santos (GAN) led the creative and technical development for the data-driven art, producing over 1,600 unique artworks based on visitors' biometric data during the event. This project was completed in collaboration with Midiadub, Melina Romano Studio, and Dexco. What it's about: Art generated from visitors' sensations. We love this project for: Blending technology with personal experience. Things to watch out for: Real-time art reflecting heartbeats and movements. #Experiential #Generative #Interactive #Realtime #DataDriven #GANDirectors #CreativeTechnology #Immersive

What makes a castle truly great? Peles Castle, nestled in the Carpathian foothills of Sinaia, Romania, isn't just a feast for the eyes—it's a marvel of innovation. Built under the direction of King Carol I, this royal residence wasn’t merely a symbol of opulence but a testament to forward-thinking design and technology. Wandering through its 160 rooms adorned with German stained glass and Cordoba leather walls, you quickly realize: this isn't just a castle—it's a living museum of European history and artistry. When construction began in 1873, the idea of a castle with its own power plant was unthinkable. But Peles changed that narrative, becoming the first European castle to have electricity, powered by a hydroelectric plant built on the Peleș River. It didn’t stop there: Peles also featured central heating, hot and cold running water, and a central vacuum system. In a time when such conveniences were scarce even in cities, this castle set a new standard for luxury living. King Carol I’s foresight and the architects' ingenuity ensured that Peles was as functional as it was magnificent. From its opulent Music Room, a gift from the Maharajah of Kapurtala, to the Great Salon’s Italian Renaissance flair, every corner of Peles tells a unique story. With each room modeled after different European styles, the castle is a veritable mosaic of international influences. And let’s not forget the Theater Hall—its ceiling frescoes were painted by Gustav Klimt and Franz Matsch, adding a touch of modernist brilliance to this historic gem. Have you explored the hidden treasures of Peles Castle yet?
