This glossary is for the terms used in the BTEC program.

This new development is telling us that our pedagogical practices must be adjusted now. The target is to have this change in time for our present year 5’s writing their GCSEs. With this though, we will need to have more investment in schools to meet students digital needs including computers (hardware) and software development to help in the delivery of lessons (resources). It is not just increased costs as we will move closer to paperless schools including text books. Cybersecurity is also now at the top of the agenda. I’m excited with this shift as schools should be preparing the next generation.🙏🏿

The other day, I asked my student. 'If you are an employer and two persons come to your company for employment. 1 Is qualified but understands only 1 language, English. The other is also qualified but understands English and also French, and maybe any other Nigerian language. Who would you employ?' Your guess is correct, they all chose option 2. If na you nko? 😊 The fact is understanding and being able to speak other languages gives you a competitive edge over others, in business, in career, in relationships. And in language, sometimes knowing just the basics is not always enough, you have to put effort to really understand the language and speak it. That is why the language space is ready to take you by the hand through the phase and make you progress at a top pace. We want you to have that edge over others Don't be left behind, why should you be afraid to invest in yourself. If you don't take a chance on yourself and do this, no one else will.
