Typhoon season is starting in Japan. As long as it's unnecessary, stay home or evacuate somewhere in safe. If the load will be covered with water, go higher places possible as you can. Check hazard map and confirm before evacuation. River and lower land will be danger and stay out of those places. Be safe! Reo #typhoon

Right on top of world weather situations that impact world supply and demand of commodities! A heads up was given some 4 days ago about Typhoon Yagi which hit Vietnam and China over the weekend. An already struggling Coffee and Rice crop probably will not be helped with such a powerful storm submerging areas in water. Brazil on the other side of the pond is suffering from the exact opposite phenomenon, dry / hot. There was some rain in the 6 to 10 day forecast from some Brazil forecasters, but with a dire supply situation and inelastic demand for coffee one has to wonder when current ICE coffee supplies will dwindle enough to start the rally? WASDE is out on Thursday 12 September 2024 and it will be a treat to read how they handle the current Rice production wording for Vietnam. Watch changes in: - ICE coffee supplies - WASDE Rice Supplies -Possible Brazil rain in the 6 to 10 day outlook. -Gap that still has not been filled near 226 in the DEC Coffee Rice and Coffee not the usual breakfast for Americans but properly invested in might pay off your mortgage! 台風1号Typhoon No. 1 is expected to approach the Izu Islands and southern Kanto between the morning and early noon tomorrow 31st. According to weather forecasts, this is expected to bring heavy rain to southern Kanto. Although the typhoon seems not so large, it is expected to bring heavy rain. This is the first typhoon to approach the Japanese archipelago this year. And it appears to be a typical rain-type typhoon that is likely to be characteristic of typhoons this year. I pray that there will be no damage from heavy rain. #typhoon #typhoonno1 #raintyphoon #taifu #kantorain #weatherforecast #raintype #naturaldisasterjapan #heavyrainjapan

Typhoon No. 7 is moving north. It seems that this year there will be a series of cases where it does not make landfall from Okinawa or Kyushu, but it is big because it comes out of nowhere! Its eyes are glaring, clear, and you can see that it is developing intensely. Will heavy rains come suddenly? In the Kanto Koshin region, where active rain and thunder clouds are spreading around the outside of the typhoon, winds are likely to increase in addition to rain in the afternoon. Stormy winds are likely to develop in some places, especially along the coast.

Typhoon Yagi, the most powerful one in the East Sea in the past 30 years, ripped through northern Vietnam on Saturday, leaving behind a trail of destruction. 21 people were killed, 229 people were injured, 8017 houses were damaged, 109,382ha of rice were flooded. Widespread power outages and communication disruptions occurred in Quảng Ninh, Hải Phòng, Thái Bình, Hải Dương, and Hà Nội- the capital city. As of now, Vietnam is trying to quickly stabilize the lives of residents, ensure the provision of sufficient food and clean water, prevent disease outbreaks restore production, and respond to post-typhoon heavy rains in northern provinces. The country is grappling with the impacts of Typhoon Yagi, and I see an indomitable spirit, collective efforts, admirable unity, and enormous courage of Vietnamese people and communities. The losses caused by this devastative typhoon are tearing my heart out, especially when my hometown was one of most affected provinces, but I do believe my Vietnam will successfully overcome these adversities and emerge even stronger soon.

Following hot on the heels of Typhoon Ampil, another system, Typhoon Shanshan, is forecast to strike Japan around Tuesday 27th August. Shanshan is expected to bring sustained winds of around 100kt and 200-300mm of rainfall across central/southern Japan, unlike Ampil, which gave just a glancing blow to south-east Japan last week. However, some ensemble members show Shanshan strengthening into a Super Typhoon with winds of 135kt or greater. Latest data suggest there is around a 30% risk of this more devastating scenario materialising. Shanshan will be fuelled by a favourable MJO phase 3/4/5 over the next week and exceptionally high sea surface temperatures of around 30C.
