We are excited to announce that the current round of MassCEC’s InnovateMass program will feature a “spotlight” focus on #gridtech! InnovateMass provides grant funding to innovators and startups to demonstrate new clean energy and climate technologies that demonstrate a strong potential for commercialization. Applicable technologies are Technology Readiness Levels (TRL) 5-8, and awards are up to $350,000 per project. This round of grant funding provides a “Gridtech Spotlight” opportunity for innovators to partner with a Massachusetts electric utility on a #gridtech demonstration. VEIR has closed a $75 million Series B funding round, led by Munich Re Ventures, with participation from Microsoft’s Climate Innovation Fund, Tyche Partners, Piva Capital, National Grid Partners, and other investors. The investment will drive the commercialisation of superconducting power transmission technology, designed to meet the rising energy demands of AI-driven data centres, renewable energy projects, and electrical grid expansion.
