I am really impressed with the steps EU is taking towards tacking the issues at its core. This will force companies in the business of clothing & footwear to seriously consider circularity and also the consumers to buy responsibily #circularity #sustainability #SCIS

🚀 A significant step forward today! The European Council announced that member states have approved regulations for a new “Ecodesign” framework, establishing sustainability requirements for nearly all products across the EU. 🌍 Additionally, the new regulations include a ban on the destruction of unsold textiles and footwear. This move aims to reduce the staggering amount of clothing waste, with 60 garbage truckloads of clothes currently being burned or buried in landfills every minute. This is a fantastic opportunity to promote circularity, drive innovation, and inspire meaningful change in our industry! ♻️🌱 #Sustainability #Ecodesign #CircularEconomy #Innovation #EnvironmentalImpact

"The regulation also directs the establishment of a new “Digital Product Passport,” aimed at helping consumers and businesses to make informed choices when purchasing products, by providing information about products’ environmental sustainability, and calls on the Commission to manage a public web portal enabling consumers to search and compare information included in product passports." #esg #sustainability #circulareconomy #clothing #footwear

Fashion regulation is going to have more impact within the next decade, than brands and retailers can imagine. We’ve planned and heavily invested for this future. Overproduction is a symptom of a complex (and too often intentionally opaque) business model. Overconsumption is a symptom of poor regulation and because sustainability has never been core to the majority of business models - certainly in terms of scale. We’re going to change this. By creating a far more efficient model that focuses on data, puts the consumer ahead of product and is designed to remove waste. If you’re a fashion brand, you should get in contact with HOLM. Our retail plans will interest. #fashion #retail #futureoffashion

Beyond Safety: Rock Fall’s Sustainable Footprint – 1 Overcoming the Challenges of Substituting Fossil-Fuel Based Materials in Safety Footwear As industries shift towards sustainability, replacing traditional fossil-fuel-based materials with bio-based alternatives has become a pressing challenge. This is especially true in sectors like safety footwear, where performance cannot be compromised. Historically, petrochemical-derived materials have offered superior durability, consistency and resistance to extreme conditions — essential qualities for safety shoes. Bio-based materials, while more sustainable, often struggle to match these high-performance standards. The variability and lower initial performance of natural materials present significant hurdles when worker safety is at stake. At Rock Fall, we are committed to sustainability without sacrificing performance. Through extensive R&D and collaboration with leading material suppliers, we have developed bio-based materials that meet the rigorous demands of the safety footwear industry. Our new materials offer strength, flexibility and durability, ensuring that our products remain as reliable and safe as ever. Sustainability and performance can go hand in hand. At Rock Fall, we've proven that with innovation and commitment, it's possible to create bio-based safety footwear that protects both people and the planet.
