1. Safic-Alcan, a leading distributor of specialty chemicals, has acquired BECK INGREDIENTS SL, a prominent distributor of nutraceutical chemicals in Spain and other neighbouring European countries. This acquisition strengthens Safic-Alcan's strategic expansion in the nutraceutical market, enhancing its offerings and leveraging synergies to drive growth in Spain, Portugal, France, and Italy.
2. Umicore, a leading global chemical manufacturer, has appointed Bart Sap as Chief Executive Officer, effective 16 May, following the mutual agreement for Mathias Miedreich to step down. Sap joined Umicore in 2004 and has held various senior positions.
3. NEXTCHEM has completed the acquisition of GasConTec GmbH, a German company specialising in low-carbon hydrogen and methanol technologies. This acquisition, valued at €30 million, enhances NEXTCHEM’s existing portfolio of over 2200 patents.
4. Calgon Carbon Corporation has entered into an agreement to acquire Sprint Environmental Services, LLC.'s industrial reactivated carbon business. This acquisition aligns with the increase in demand for carbon reactivation as a recycling and disposal solution across several industries.
5. Chroma Color Corporation has acquired Approved Color, LLC, a manufacturer of colour concentrates headquartered in New Hampshire, USA. This acquisition bolsters Chroma Color’s strengths in supporting customers in a diverse range of applications, including consumer products, and packaging, among others.
