And do you have CS:GO Prime Status, an active Competitive Skill Group, and have you played the majority of your official matchmaking games in one of the regions where the Limited Test is available? 🎁 Go check your Steam, you might have got an invite to play Counter-Strike 2! #esports #gaming #counterstrike

Livestreaming on X is being promoted via gaming and esports personalities 📢 All affiliated creators will have a small red controller next to their name. Elon is even replying himself to pros using the platform for the first time. We all know he's fond of (competitive) gaming, so this is a logical fit. Will X be able to gain ground on YouTube and Twitch?

The longest CS2 match to date was played during M80 vs Fnatic map 1 ⏳ ▶️ 71 rounds ▶️ Over three hours of play ▶️ A (unconventional) bathroom break ▶️ 450+ kills across the board Don't forget, they still had to play one or two more rounds 😮💨 The all time record for a professional match stands at 88 rounds. Insane.

Is Linkin Park the maker of this year's Worlds Anthem? 👑🎶 That would be absolutely amazing. The signs are there: ▶️ Heavy is the Crown in their new tracklist ▶️ LoL Esports commenting a 👑 on their X post ▶️ Crown graphics in the Worlds roadmap ▶️ The Linkin Park tour stops at the O2 in London on the same day as the Anthem reveal ▶️ Mike Shinoda is a fan of Riot Games's titles The investigators over on X did really well in connecting the dots here. But we'll see on the 24th of September what Riot has in store for us.

Complexity's training room can now mimic sounds and lights of an actual arena 🔊 They can even change the temperature from stone cold to fiery hot. All this is done to better prepare their team(s) to play on live stages. Pretty smart in my opinion.

Destiny celebrates its 10-year anniversary 🎂 Congrats to Bungie for keeping it going all these years. In my opinion it has/had all the ingredients to be a great addition to the current esports landscape. Too bad it never really gained enough traction. But they kept their promise from back in 2014 👇 "So what I’ll say to you is: we said that we were a ten-year game, and both Activision and Bungie have committed to being wholly behind the large effort, and it’s a large investment for both sides. I don’t think there’s any set date – ten years is just representing the go-forward presence and the way that we think about doing things.” How many more years will we be able to enjoy Destiny do you think?

The LEC viewership numbers are up thanks to co-streaming 🤝 Three big streamer names helped the numbers increase by almost 10M hours watched. ▶️ Ibai Llanos, Mad Lions Koi's owner (Spanish) ▶️ Marc Robert "Caedrel" Lamont, Fnatic's content creative (English) ▶️ Kamel "Kameto" Kebir, Karmine Corp's owner (French) It's no surprise the most viewed matches of 2024 were of MDK and Kcorp. Leaving this year's summer final G2 vs Fnatic (606K peak) in the dust. The Spanish and French community streams are just that insanely popular. And the Riot Games need them, without them, viewership numbers would've dropped. Are individual creators the future of broadcasts? 📈 The creator economy keeps on growing.

World of Warcraft is partnering up with two Chinese esports teams 🤝 You read that right. Blizzard's best IP will be visible on the shirts of Extreme Gaming and G2 x Invictus Gaming during the Dota 2 The International. 💬 "Our plan was to put ‘For Xalatath’ alongside XG players in-game ID, and to put ‘For Azeroth’ alongside G2xiG players in-game ID, But it’s impossible now, Valve unilaterally canceled in-game advertisements, including team banners, base logos, and tags alongside players’ ID, without any warning, communications with teams." Their shirt will now (only) feature a spot that reads 魔兽世界 on their left chest, which translates to 'WOW'. Defense of the Ancients (Dota) found its origin in a custom map in Warcraft III: The Frozen Throne (2003), a Blizzard developed RTS-game. The only other time I can recall a game sponsoring a team of org was 'Raid Shadow Legends'. Pretty unique.
