Early days, but it's possible to evaporate away terracotta surfaces using a small output laser. (And seemingly thermally decompose the red haematite to black magnetite while I'm at it). Next steps, tune laser power down to the point I'm 'just melting' the surface to revitrify it. Wouldn't it be nice to be able to rebuild sandblasted or abraded faces? (And if anyone has any acid burnt terracotta samples I could have, it would be a useful limit to cross check)

WHAT IS VENETIAN PLASTER? This is a question I get asked often, which is why I chose to create this video showing the whole process. https://lnkd.in/g8bCfniv Venetian plaster is not render, it is not paint, it is natural lime based plaster with marble dust, yes real marble crushed into fine dust! Basically you are creating a real marble wall with only 2-3mm thickness. IS IT EXPENSIVE? YES, it is more expensive than paint, more expensive than render and normal solid plaster but a lot cheaper than using a custom marble piece. For this video I used Marmorino fine, which is not as shinny and reflective as the high polished version. However, the Marmorino finish can not be replicated with anything else, that's why every single wall is a unique piece itself. I hope you guys enjoy the video and learn something from it. Please share this video and subscribe to my Chanel so I can keep creating more content to share with you. #beeswax #venetian-plaster #marmorino #stucco #diy #artisan #handcraft #howto #stepbystep

馬來漆- these Chinese characters if translated to English, it means paint from Malaysia, but it is not paint because it is a cheap version of Venetian Plaster. It is mainly made with synthetic materials and other cheap compound to mimic Venetian Plaster. It is not paint because it is applied the same way as Venetian plaster by using a trowel to apply at least two thin layers to the wall and they wax is applied and then the wax is polished to achieve the effect of luminescent of marble. Sometimes, some people also call this cheap version of Venetian Plaster - Stucco. However, Stucco is mainly used on exterior walls and Stucco has many different textures.

There are two types of porcelain: Feldspathic – Can be as thin as 0.1 mm. When bonded and polished, the margin disappears completely. EMAX – The thinnest is 0.3 mm. You can still do prepless by bonding and polishing at this thickness.
