Participating in the so-called "innovation theatre" can indeed be puzzling. Many companies put on a show of innovation without substantial results to show for it. The bottom line for most businesses is cash. Successful innovation projects need to translate into real cash generation, which is not only about increasing revenue but also selling more and potentially selling at higher prices. Ultimately, the success of an innovation hinges on its acceptance by actual paying customers. Otherwise, it remains nothing more than an expensive idea. //ME TRYING TO PRETEND TO UNDERSTAND THE INNOVATION THEATRE 🔥 I have to admit I never understood why companies participating in the innovation theatre. _Show Innovation that looks good but does not work _Marketing Innovation that looks good but does not work _Stakeholder Innovation that looks good but does not work In the end, most of the innovation projects we have done have to fulfill a very simple KPI: CASH It doesn't matter if we make more revenue, sell more, or sell at higher prices it all comes down to making more cash. And guess what, it's totally ok for me. A successful innovation is only successful if it is fully accepted by real-buying customers. Otherwise, it's just an idea. Maybe a very expensive idea ;-) P.S. And yes, today you can even make cash AND positively impact the environment. So the business team must understand what is achieved through AI.
