TLDR on Lunar New Year Celebration at Wells Fargo. Interesting facts. 1. Wed, Jan 29, 2025 is the start of new year according to the Lunar calendar, celebrated by many Asian cultures, not just Chinese. Why lunar calendar? Its seasonal events are much more accurate than the solar calendar. 2. 2025 is the year of the Snake according to the Chinese Zodiac. The snake represents calmness and introspection -- traits seen as important for "guiding one's life with wisdom and grace,". 3. I was born in the year of Rat (i.e. quick-witted, resourceful, versatile, kind..). Find yours here: https://lnkd.in/e42dAWKv 4. 'Eight' (八) in Chinese is pronounced ba and sounds similar to fa (发, traditional character: 發) as in facai (发财), meaning 'well-off'. Therefore, it is believed to be the luckiest number in China. Some are willing to pay premium to get lots of 8s in their license plates, phone numbers... are you one of them? 5. Celebrating the Chinese lunar calendar has been a Wells Fargo tradition since 1912. https://lnkd.in/eA7x3Miq.
For over 100 years, we’ve celebrated Lunar New Year with our customers and employees. This year, we're thrilled to partner with Victo Ngai to bring the Year of the Snake to life in a truly captivating way. Victo gave the Year of the Snake a lucky twist by illustrating a snake forming an infinity symbol—or the lucky number 8— representing eternal prosperity. The number 8 holds special significance in Chinese culture, as its pronunciation sounds like the words for wealth and prosperity. Happy Lunar New Year! It starts today. As a previous leader for the Beauty Boutique at LAX International Terminal, #1 in NA for the LVMH DFS Group Limited, Lunar New Year was the biggest holiday season on the travel retail calendar. A big shift from what I had know in local retail. I learned a lot from the Beauty Advisors and my colleagues about the holiday and it's 3 week celebrations. And now I happily embrace this time as my own 'new year' for a few reasons: -I am just not ready for what's next by January 1st. I'm still trying to put holiday decorations away and recover from food and fun. -I need time to contemplate the holidays as a whole and what did or didn't happen. -I'm finally back in my body by the end of January. A whirlwind of work and getting caught back up, back on healthy eating, sleep and exercise schedules takes a good 3 weeks. therefore I can't even think about what I want for the New Year. -Now I'm ready on January 29th. I've had time to build momentum. Think through things. Dream. Have conversations. Know what I want. -Did I mention there are 3 weeks of celebrations and festivities?! Now that I'm rested and we've had a helluva January, I can embrace the Year of the Snake ( of which I'm born under) with all the transformation that's to come. I can confidently shed what no longer serves me with grace and slide into the superpowers that have been waiting for me to show up all this time. You'll hear my "happy new year" 🥳 at the end of January from now on 😃 Thanks Grace Creative LA for this reminder. #newyear #startover #beautyindustry #travelretail #secondact #secondcareer
Who wants to start this year over again? Show of hands! Well, Happy Lunar New Year! Today we usher in the Year of the Snake in which we shed our old skin and bring about transformation with elegance, grace and maybe a few hisses. Most of us in the 50+ club can relate, having shed more identities than we can count. Like the snake, we've learned how to move (mostly) gracefully from one stage to the next, treating what may be considered shortcomings as our true superpowers. This Lunar New Year, we hope you take the opportunity to embrace your serpentine side and find power in your ability to adapt, persevere, and to stay grounded in exactly who you are at this moment in time.

If you've yet to get into the spirit of 2025, decide to let today be your Day One. After all, it's Day One of the Lunar New Year. If you've accumulated layers of outdated beliefs and stories to protect the younger version of you, perhaps it's time to emulate the Snake and shed what you no longer need, so you can enjoy the lightness of being yourself. If the linear way of thinking and living is no longer helpful, it could be time to partner with someone (like me!) who can help you craft a new strategy for life and work that is flexible enough to evolve along with you, that accommodates who you are becoming, and that captures the vision of who you are called to be. Happy Lunar New Year!
