The latest in our series on popular architectural styles is Georgian. This is the name given to the set of architectural styles current between 1714 to 1830, with the name coming from the succession of monarchs named George who ruled at this time. Georgian architecture can still be seen in many places around the UK, from neoclassical country houses, such as The Grange at Northington in Hampshire, to grand terraces, with one of the most famous examples being the Royal Crescent in Bath. Classical and renaissance architecture had a heavy influence on the development of the Georgian style, reflected in the balance and height of the houses both externally and internally. Georgian architecture is very distinctive, with characteristics including three to four storeys, sash windows with smaller panes, symmetrical stone, brick, or stucco walls, often in a uniform colour, and a balanced interior layout. If you’re on the hunt for a beautiful Georgian home, get in touch with us today and find out how we can help you! #BradbourneProperty #BuyingAgent #TrustedAdvisors #OffMarket #PrimeMarket #PropertySearch #PropertyBuying #Georgian #ArchitecturalStyles #PropertyMarket #PropertyFinder #PropertySearchAgent #Expertise #BradbournePropertyFinders

Reminiscent of the architecture that brought the French chateau to America, this home adeptly infuses stone, plaster, and timber into comfortably elegant spaces, both inside and out. The large casement windows, hip and gabled roofs, and curated outdoor spaces tap the parts of our souls that recognize a time in human history that was defined by hard work, rich food, and big comfy beds at the end of the day. The courtyard approach was designed to create an experience. Going from the wooded, natural areas into the pristine refinement of the manicured courtyard is intended to evoke an emotional and physical transition from nature's domain to the home design. The Evolution of Window Blinds: From Ancient Rome to Modern Homes Did you know that window blinds have a history dating back to ancient civilizations? The Roman Empire, known for its incredible architecture, played an unexpected role in developing window coverings we still use today. During the construction of the Colosseum: * Rome faced a lot of dust pollution * People hung damp cloths in their windows to keep the dust out * This handy trick evolved into what we now call Roman blinds This story shows how everyday needs can lead to clever innovations. From their beginnings as simple dust barriers, blinds have become key parts of interior design and home comfort. What do you think about this design history? #windowblinds #evolution #vyoma #architecture #homedecor

PLANNING APPROVED for our boutique terrace of family houses in Ealing. Whilst the typical historic typology of a terrace is uniform, the strategy includes subtle differences to the architectural elements. These include window fenestration, balustrade materiality, brick detailing to openings and tonal brick colours to the facades. The difference provides further interest to the facades and a distinct character to the scheme. The spaces between the dwellings at the upper floors give relief to the massing. The uniformity of a terrace is retained in the appearance of repeated pairs of semi-detached dwellings. The eaves line and dormers incorporating double storey windows help to alter the scale and levels within the dwellings. The part two storey extruding element to the front of the dwellings provides the opportunity to create modest first floor terraces with porch entrances below. The rear first floor elements help to articulate a rhythm to the terrace with corner windows orientated towards Craven Avenue. #architecture #architecturerlovers #archilovers #architecturedesign #RIBACharteredPractice #contemporaryarchitecture #cgi #dezeen #architecturephotography #ealing #ealinghomes #archdaily luxgrove homes | savills | blackpointdesignltd | Markides Associates | AD Trees | Point2 | Energylab_ | Epd landscape | Justfacades
