2 weeks ago, JMARK had its annual Holiday Party. While the celebrations and connections were great, what stood out was something that our Product Manager, Howard Trumbull, said: "Thank you to everyone who trusted us enough to let us know when we needed to do better." One of the most important elements of a company’s culture is its willingness to have what we call ‘Courageous Conversations.’ But to do that, you first need to create the environment and psychological safety for your team to feel comfortable to engage with discomfort. It’s not only something we practice internally, but with our clients, too. In fact, it’s largely the reason we were able to mend our relationship with a crucial client in the healthcare industry 2 years ago. All this is to say: ✅ Love the Truth, even when you don’t like it. ✅ Own your mistakes and outline your next step. ✅ Do what you say you’ll do when you say you’ll do it. ✅ Lead with compassion and empathy in your pursuit of accountability. — When our team feels safe enough to be unapologetically honest, we all grow stronger together. It gives us the courage to face hard truths, make things right, and become better—for our people, our clients, and ourselves.

Congratulations Rachel McLellan for the honor of Hiver of the Quarter in Q3! Rachel helps lead the everyday operations of our labor management division, Lime I&D. Her experience and attention to detail, making sure nothing is missed in the install and dismantle process for our clients exhibits, is second-to-none. We’re thankful everyday that Rachel is here looking after Lime’s labor operations. Thank you Rachel for all you do to help keep Lime and BlueHive going strong! Q: How long have you worked at BlueHive? A: 3 years Q: What is your position / title? A: Director of Labor Operations for LIME I&D Q: Do you have a nickname? A: RachieKia – my neighbor gave me the nickname after I bought my first car in high school (a Kia Optima) and it stuck. Q: How did you get started working in the industry? A: I had completed my degree in Elementary Education but wanted to go a different route than teaching. I was looking for a career where I could utilize my years of experience and love for the customer service industry and happened upon a position as a Customer Service Rep for Nth Degree in Boston. I had no idea what a trade show was going into it, but I immediately fell in love with the fast-paced, something new every day environment that was ultimately all about client interaction. 8 years later I am still loving what I do even though my role has changed over time. Q: Favorite thing to do when not at work? A: Spending time with family & friends and reading a good book Q: Favorite sports team(s)? A: Michigan Wolverines Q: Favorite holiday and why? Staff Conference Day 2024: A Day to Remember! Yesterday was truly inspiring as we gathered for our annual Staff Conference Day—a perfect opportunity to step back, recharge, and reconnect with our shared goals, values, and aspirations. On a personal note, I was honored to be nominated for the “Silent Hero” category in our Colleague Awards. Now, anyone who knows me will agree that “Holly” and “silent” aren’t words that often go hand-in-hand. 😂 Still, a huge thank you to my wonderful colleagues for putting my name forward—it means the world. I may not have taken home the win, but recognition like this reminds me just how impactful a kind word or gesture can be. Kudos to the team who organised this event—it was packed with highlights. And of course, a big shoutout to everyone who joined in with such enthusiasm. Days like these remind us of the power of collaboration and community. And in case you’re wondering—my certificate is now proudly displayed on the fridge. It’s keeping good company with Bramble’s first daycare report card and a few magnets from places I’ve never actually visited. Next stop… the Grammys? Hey, go big or go home, right? 😁 #RecognitionMatters #Teamwork #GrowthMindset #Leadership

🥳 Celebrating 2️⃣ years at Thirst 🧡 Anyone who has taken a role as a marketing leader at a start-up knows that it’s not for the faint-hearted, you are starting at the bottom of the mountain and trying to get to the top. 🧗 But I wouldn’t have it any other way. The rewards? They’re just as powerful.👇 ✨ The impact of your work is visible across the entire company. I see firsthand how a well-crafted campaign can drive awareness, spark excitement, and move the needle in a meaningful way. ✨ There’s freedom to innovate and test new ideas without layers of bureaucracy—ideas can go from concept to execution in record time! ✨Endless Learning: Working at a startup means constant learning and adaptability. It’s a chance to evolve not only the brand but also my own skill set every single day. 💪 And I have to tap into the most underrated skill in marketing...‘Getting. Sh*t. Done’. Whether it’s pivoting on a moment’s notice or finding scrappy solutions, a ‘make it happen’ mindset is everything. Here are some of the results I’m most proud of: ✅ Increased inbound leads by 205% YoY ✅ Increased organic web traffic by 470% YoY ✅ Increased social media audience by 900% For anyone thinking of joining a start-up, know that it will challenge you.
