We welcome the PM E-DRIVE scheme as a significant step in further accelerating India’s journey towards adoption of electric vehicles. This scheme will incentivize customers to adopt environment friendly electric two-wheelers, three-wheelers, trucks, buses and ambulances. The scheme also addresses the charging infrastructure by supporting 88,500 electric vehicle chargers across the country. With meaningful outlay of 10,900 Cr, the PM E-DRIVE program reflects our government’s resolve to fast-track adoption of electric mobility and encourages industry to step up R&D, manufacturing and commercialization of clean EV technology. 1moNice to see such positive movement, but it still stands the same as #EMOBIC supports #NCC (Net cost contract) against #CESL #OEM #GCC model (as all the risk is still with #STU (no tender is profitable to STU so far), #subsidies are a liability to TaxPayers & core profit to the #Bidder—instead subsidies STU's to make VGF provisions in #PPP, & government to put additional taxes on the private vehicle to promote public transport which they have failed). We have consulted the #3 countries' Governments, & it works well, while with the other states in #Australia #Oceania who didn't listen. They've trouble after a few months of operations. Still, the govt has to open up & be transparent on revenue innovation w/o ticket raises. The operator will put significant CAPEX with cash-burning OPEX, but no operator can only get the desired ROI of 14-17% with fare collection. Every PPP has to be beneficial for all stakeholders & ecology. #IndianGovernment & #STU to understand #PPP means equality to private partners, not their #contractor or #operator, & to govern their rules but to take advantage of their CAPEX, innovation & ideas to make the business safe, profitable, reliable affordable.
