Today I attended Gradlinc's Annual Panel Discussion in Stellenbocsh to learn more about the various perspectives on company culture from both the employer's and graduate's point of view. It was truly insightful and such a great experience. It's exciting to see the amount of awareness currently being generated on this topic and the impact it has on both parties to maintain a healthy work relationship, focusing on employee wellbeing to create a sustainable and efficient work culture. With graduates eager to start a position they tend to not make the company's culture the main priority when looking for a job. Even though they have a preference, they are willing to settle for so called good company values with the hope that the company actually embodies those values. The creating of an aligned company culture however, is what maintains a sustainable relationship and allows everyone to flurish. I believe the responsibility therefore lies with the companies to prioritise the constant development of their culture, for universities to educate graduates on the realities of work life and at the same time for employees to speek up and assist management to better understand their desires and together co-create an environment of trust and ambition.

Spot on! Company culture is frequently underestimated in brand strategy, yet is foundational for long-term success and positive reputation management. Highlighting its role is crucial and is the invisible force that shapes employee experiences and brand perception. Kudos to Gradlinc and the panelists for bringing this to light 💡
