Last week at the Future Proof conference, in my backyard in Huntington Beach, Bloomberg interviewed famed small- and mid-cap investor John Rogers of Ariel Investments. As someone focused on smaller equities, it was a refreshing discussion by an actual stock picker. No talk about the macro environment or #AI or the Magnificent Seven, which seems to dominate today’s finance press. One thing I’ve written about lately is small-cap being trounced by the larger companies. The #Russell2000 has famously lagged the #SP500 seemingly forever. 👉But he pointed out the reason this asset class is so interesting. On an individual basis, most people aren't paying attention to this part of the market. People might know how the Russell 2000 is trading, but the constitution of companies is unknown to most investors and has very little Wall Street coverage. ➡As such, investors in this space have to do the work! Learning the industries, getting to know management, modeling out future cash flows. The stuff I was taught as the hallmark of investing. It was a refreshing conversation and a reminder that small cap stock picking still exists. Watch the full interview below! #stocks #investing #capitalmarkets #investors #finance

In the realm of investing, value investing stands out for its time-tested stability and success. By seeking stocks that are undervalued compared to their true worth, a patient investor can reap the rewards over the long term. As someone who values thorough research, I can attest that the key to successful value investing is in-depth analysis and understanding of a company's fundamentals. Patience is a virtue, and nowhere is that truer than in the pursuit of value investments - where the intrinsic value will eventually be recognized by the market. Stay focused, and committed, and let time be your ally. #ValueInvesting #LongTermSuccess #InvestmentWisdom

#Investing: Beyond Market Speculation Investing is often misunderstood as a game of predicting market movements in the short term. This couldn't be further from the truth. No one could have foreseen the remarkable highs of the Sensex and NIFTY during the COVID-19 lows of 2019. This example underscores the unpredictable nature of markets and highlights the importance of a long-term perspective. In the short term, markets may be driven by sentiments and liquidity, making them volatile and seemingly irrational. However, over the long term, earnings and corporate profitability are the true determinants of market performance. This is why it's crucial to maintain a long-term investment horizon and adhere to a disciplined asset allocation strategy, rather than attempting to predict market levels. Investing according to one's risk profile and tolerance to volatility is equally important. Each investor has a unique risk appetite and financial goals, and it's essential to align investments accordingly to achieve financial success. As Warren Buffett wisely said, "The stock market is designed to transfer money from the Active to the Patient." His long-time partner, Charlie Munger, adds, "The big money is not in the buying and selling, but in the waiting." Similarly, Peter Lynch, renowned for his investing acumen, reminds us, "In this business, if you're good, you're right six times out of ten. You're never going to be right nine times out of ten." These insights from legendary investors emphasize the importance of patience, discipline, and a long-term approach in investing. By focusing on these principles, you can navigate market volatility and build a robust investment portfolio. ### Disclaimer Mutual fund investments are subject to market risks, read all scheme-related documents carefully. #AirWarriorMoney #MutualFunds #Sensex #Nifty Feel free to share your thoughts and insights on long-term investing strategies!

🚨 Crafting Your Own Basic Quant Investing Strategy: Today, I unveil a basic quant investing strategy I've crafted, demonstrating how you can tailor-make your approach to financial success. Jan 1 2024 to Mar 18: Decent return of 7.7% ✅ Lay the Foundation: Fundamental Queries 1. Market Capitalization: Start by filtering companies with a market capitalization greater than 1000 crore rupees and less than 50,000 cr. 2. Sales Growth: Look for companies boasting an average sales growth rate exceeding 15%, indicating their potential for sustained expansion. 3. Stock Performance: Avoid stocks that have strayed significantly from their all-time high levels. A stock stall of less than 25% from its all-time high suggests the company is maintaining its momentum, a key indicator of future performance. 4. Debt/Equity Ratio: Keep risk in check by selecting companies with a conservative debt-to-equity ratio of less than 0.5. 5. Positive Cash Flows: Cash is king in the business world. Ensure the companies you invest in are generating positive cash flows, a sign of financial health and operational sustainability. 6. Price to Cash Flow: Evaluate whether the price you pay for a company's cash flow is reasonable. Aiming for an adequate price-to-cash-flow ratio helps you gauge whether the stock is undervalued or overvalued. ✅ The Sharpe Ratio: Refining Your Selection Calculate the Sharpe ratio for each stock on your list. This metric helps you assess the risk-adjusted return of your investments. By prioritizing stocks with higher Sharpe ratios, you can refine your selection further, focusing on those with the best potential for returns relative to their risk. ✅ Results and Performance Analysis: Now comes the moment of truth. Put your strategy to the test by investing in the selected stocks. Track their performance over time, monitoring returns and assessing how they fare in different market conditions. Below are the 20 Stocks that I shortlisted for my Quant Momentum Strategy. #quantitativefinance #investing #investingstrategy #smallcaps #midcap #nifty50 #stockmarketindia #equityresearch #quant #finance #linkedingrowth
