My last post about F1 was well received, so let's risk looking like a #LinkedInLunatic to make a point. Look at this clip: https://lnkd.in/esabGaHh This was last week in Baku. McLaren's Oscar Piastri is in the lead and Ferrari's Charles Leclerc is applying pressure by staying in DRS range. Piastri makes a mistake, sending his McLaren into a slide at the exit of the corner. Instead of capitalizing, Leclerc makes the exact same mistake. It costs him any chance of making the pass needed to win the race. Without the clean air, Leclerc's tires degrade faster, losing the grip needed to stay with Piastri. When you follow your opponent too closely, you're so focused on every move they make that you no longer run your own race. In the marketing world, you have to constantly keep tabs on what your competition is doing, but you also have to make decisions based on your own data and objectives. Too often, stakeholders will pressure you into making decisions because "that's what the competition is doing." Satisfying that way of thinking often comes at the detriment to you and your team's work. Leaders need to make decisions based on their own team's body of work, apply the findings and learn from the outcomes to improve. If you do nothing but follow what your competition is doing, you'll never pass them. Run your own race and watch your team start to win 🏁 🏎 . #LinkedInSports #F1

Love this partnership between AKT London and the British Rowing Team. Sponsoring slightly less mainstream teams and athletes then focusing relentlessly on content creation can unlock massive ROI. This can often be done without any cash changing hands — just product and content — because these teams are just as hungry for the spotlight as the brands that work with them. Another great example is EF Pro Cycling — the result of EF Education First taking over a pro cycling team (for pennies compared to the cost of a football team or NBA team) as their primary marketing channel. Working with tier 1 athletes from Formula 1 or the NBA is unaffordable for most startup brands, and the space is crowded with tier 1 brands. Would love to see more brands follow this path. Kudos, AKT London
We’re very excited to announce that this year, AKT is the official partner of the British Rowing Team! 🚣🏻♂️ We recently visited the team during their training sessions, putting AKT deodorant to the ultimate test. The results? IT PERFORMS. Stay tuned for exciting content coming up! 🧡

Part 4/4 Step 5 - With the remaining players further contextual data, and notes on match performances will be made into the final player packets. Primary Suggestion (CB) - Kennedy Egbus Mikuni: A Highly athletic and mobile young center-back. Secondary Suggestion (DM) - Satoshi Tanaka: An Intelligent and defensively minded midfielder. Tertiary Suggestion (GK) - Takumi Nagaishi & Masaaki Murakami: The two Fukuoka goalkeepers each have something a bit different to offer while both their numbers show a slight improvement on the current goalkeeper situation. For any further explanation of reasonings, or other questions, comments, or concerns please reach out to me at any time to discuss.

Should You Start Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu? With the growing popularity of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ), especially in professional circles, I've received numerous questions from people considering starting their journey. Here are some tidbits from my lifetime of experience. Feel free to DM me if you want to chat about it. The Raw Truth: 🥋 Is BJJ for Everyone? Absolutely. BJJ offers various levels of training, making it accessible for anyone to fit into their schedule and lifestyle. 🥋 Should I Lift Weights to Get Stronger Before Starting? No need. No cross-training can fully prepare you for your first BJJ class. Just showing up is the hardest part—the rest will follow naturally, at least in the beginning. 🥋 I Have Chronic Injuries. Can I Still Train? It depends on the severity of your injuries. You can control the intensity of your training, and a good academy with an experienced instructor will help minimize risks by tailoring your training to your needs. If you're considering taking the plunge into BJJ and want to discuss it further, I'm open for calls. Just DM me—I'm always happy to help! #bjj #jiujitsu #training #martialarts
