GlobalData Plc’s Tech, Media, and Telecom (TMT) Predictions in 2024 forecast that the generative AI market will be worth $323bn by 2027 and that AI-led business models will transform the way companies operate. However, the sustained acceptance and adoption of AI in society are founded on trust. Generative AI use cases face an uphill battle to gain the public’s trust. Governance around AI is key. Indeed, GlobalData predicts that regulation will drive new trends, such as constitutional AI in 2024. Developing transparent and rule-abiding AI will be critical, particularly in high-risk sectors such as healthcare, finance, and government, where AI can influence life-changing decisions. #trustintech #ai #aiethics Pravo Consulting Campaign Catapult

Today's AI guidance by USPTO Director Vidal admonishes practitioners appearing before the PTAB or TTAB to review and own their work product as usual, whether using AI or ML to help with their work or not. To me, this is the right approach. As she explains, we already have PTO rules and penalties for those who submit false, sloppy, or misleading work. No need to complicate things with new rules targeting AI/ML misconduct in particular. https://lnkd.in/g9Cf8VCu #AI #ML #IP

🔥 AI regulation and X risk is a hot topic. Should governments control private sector 🛂 AI research and/or the application of AI in certain domains like Healthcare 🏥? Does AI pose an existential threat that warrants government intervention 🚨? How can governments "know" when AI is "safe" 🤔 enough? More importantly, we probably need to establish guardrails 🚧, safety nets 🛡️, institutions 🏛️, funds 💰 to support those displaced by AI in the foreseeable future. 👥 https://lnkd.in/g9jdh2JV https://lnkd.in/gbUtjQwE
