The Ministry of Law and Justice, Legislative Department vide Gazette Notification No.CG-DL-E- 12082023-248045 dated 11.08.2023 notified the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP Act, 2023). The Act aims to provide for setting out a comprehensive framework for the processing of digital personal data in amanner that recognises both the right of individuals to protect their personal data and the need to process such personal data for lawful purposes and for matters connected therewith or incidental thereto.
