Introducing this year's Future Transport Visions Group research themes: 🌱 Decarbonisation and Sustainable Transport 🤝 Engagement and Behaviour Change 💻 Modelling and Appraisal Processes 💡 Future Transport Modes and Technologies 🚦 Intelligent Transport Systems ❓ Emerging Trends (Other) We wanted to give this year's initiative some more structure and provide people with some broad themes to pitch ideas for. The themes are linked to expertise within our committee and broad transport topics affecting the industry; but also include a "wildcard" category for those that don't quite fit any theme. We will group all entries into these themes as part of organising our collaboration workshops which will be the forum for turning individual ideas into group projects. Are these jolting any ideas? You can submit your expression of interest to FTVG 2024/25 here: https://lnkd.in/emCSbSw Rees Jeffreys Road Fund Rod Fletcher Juliana ORourke #ftvg #taketransportfurther #transportplanning #transportengineering #transportresearch #decarbonisation #sustainabletravel #behaviourchange #stakeholderengagement #transportmodelling #transportappraisal #intelligenttransportsystems #futuretransport #futuremobility

👏 Great to see the new #HorizonEU #Platina4Action project getting underway. ⛴ The platform will act as a catalyst to accelerate green and connected inland waterway transport #IWT 🎯...with a goal to ultimately shift more cargo from #road to #waterways in line with the #eugreendeal and European Commission's #NAIADES action plan. As one of the most CO2-efficient transport modes available, inland waterways have huge potential to play a central role in decarbonising our transport systems ❗ 🔎 Check out the project factsheet ➡ https://lnkd.in/eMTkaARM Susanne Lanzerstorfer Gabriel Mialocq WaterborneTP European Inland Waterway Transport Platform viadonau University of Antwerp - Faculty of Business and Economics DST - Development Centre for Ship Technology and Transport Systems #EU #HorizonEU #Transport #EUFunded #ResearchImpactEU #EUTransportResearch #waterbornetransport #GreenShipping #inlandwaterways #climateaction #energy #energyefficiency
The Platina4Action Project, a Horizon Europe-funded initiative, had its kick-off meeting on January 18, 2024, in Brussels. As a proud member of the PLATINA4Action consortium, we are partnering with leading waterborne transport organizations Expertise- en InnovatieCentrum Binnenvaart, viadonau, DST - Development Centre for Ship Technology and Transport Systems, WaterborneTP, the Danube Commission, and academic and research institutions University of Antwerp - Faculty of Business and Economics to fulfill the key objective of the project. Platina4Action is set to spearhead innovation and environmental stewardship in the IWT sector. It is a significant step towards realizing zero-emission, intelligent, and sustainable inland navigation. The IWT Platform is set to lead and contribute dedicated IWT knowledge and stakeholder consultation-related activities, ensuring effective knowledge transfer, collaboration, and sustained dialogue among key stakeholders benefiting the entire IWT sector. Stay tuned for updates on the Platina4Action Project’s progress and key milestones on this page and the upcoming dedicated page of the project. #h2020 #InlandNavigation #sustainabletransport

The European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT) was established in 2008 and is based in Budapest. Its mission is to contribute to sustainable economic growth and competitiveness by strengthening the innovation capacity of the Member States and the Union. It implements its mission through Knowledge and Innovation Communities (KICs), which focus on a specific sector. They are autonomous and have their own legal personality and governance systems. KICs are designed to mobilize large-scale partnerships bringing together educational institutions, research organizations and businesses from across Europe (the so-called "knowledge triangle"). After 15 years of EIT funding, the KICs are expected to be self-Since 2021, the EIT is part of Horizon Europe Pillar III "Innovative Europe". The Strategic Innovation Agenda 2021-20272 foresees the creation of a new KIC in the field of Water, Marine and Maritime (WMM) Sectors and Ecosystems, which will be articulated around 3 major societal challenges: . - Water scarcity, droughts and floods - Degradation of marine and freshwater ecosystems - Circular and sustainable blue economy According to the EIT, the call for proposals for the new KIC will be published in 2025 and the designated WMM KIC will be launched in 2026. https://lnkd.in/eS6RtA8b #water #innovation
