Finals of the EU Sparks for Climate - the first European Citizens' Hackathon Championship The first phase of EU Sparks, the national/regional online hackathons across Europe has been completed. It brought together 75 teams from 22 Member States and 7 associated countries. More than 300 young people, students, researchers, innovators and citizens worked together in 14 events to use research results and available knowledge to improve their lives and help their communities to adapt to and mitigate climate change. This ends a six-month journey of innovation and co-creation, demonstrating the power of citizen engagement and knowledge valorisation. It has been made possible with the support of universities, research organisations, city councils and other institutions across Europe acting as local organisers, and more than 100 experts as mentors helping the teams to develop their ideas and as jury members giving feedback and advice and selecting the best teams to move on to the final. Teams will present their solutions to a jury panel of high level experts that will meet in Brussels. The Climate Solutions Prize 2025 is officially launched! For the third consecutive year, Cycle Momentum is proud to partner in this major initiative that brings together startups, researchers, and industry leaders to accelerate climate innovation. With over $1.5 million in prizes across Canada, this edition marks a historic milestone for climate technologies. As in 2024, Cycle Momentum will lead the Climate Startup Prize. Managed by Cycle Momentum, an international accelerator and open innovation platform uniting entrepreneurs, investors, and innovators to address ecological challenges, the Climate Startup Prize will award the best and brightest Climate Tech startups throughout Quebec with access to investment, prizes, and exposure. The prize of $400,000 will be awarded to two (2) winners, in recognition of their innovative solutions that will help fight our climate crisis: ➡️ $150,000 will be awarded to a start-up at the pre-seed stage (1), in the form of an equity investment. ➡️ $250,000 will be awarded to a start-up at the seed stage (2) in the form of an equity investment. (1) a company that raised $750,000 or less from private investors in equity or semi-equity. (2)a company that raised more than $750,000 from private investors in equity or semi-equity. The Climate Startup Prize - Cycle Momentum aims to inspire future innovators to channel their ingenuity to find solutions to climate change by funding the largest incentive prize in Quebec.
