In many industries, the incentives aren’t aligned. Some parts of the industry have adapted to the times and others are stuck in the past. I can only speak to my experience and the music industry is a perfect example of this. Spotify completely changed the music industry, positively or negatively, you can decide on that one, but the point is it permanently changed the industry. It flipped it on its head. Live shows used to be promotion for an album and that’s where the artist would make most of their money. Now Spotify is the promotion and the live shows are where the money is. But the event organizer’s business model doesn’t support this sudden change. They’re now incurring more costs and artists are demanding more money. Which drastically decreases profits and even leads to many events making a loss. That’s why at AAA we’re trying to solve this, because the way things are working isn’t sustainable. By using NFTs we can create a layered experience. Not only can it give like minded people access to a community, but it can go deeper than that. Fans can get access to their favorite artists, be involved in the creative process of events or with artists, and be motivated to engage and promote with unique rewards that they actually value. It simply enhances the fan experience and our industry is one of many examples of where this applies. Event organizers, can go straight to the source and try to get rid of the cash flow problems they’re facing. This can be done through preselling tickets and improved access to fans, fan feedback can help them build the right sets and book the right artists to ensure success, and they can offer perks that don’t necessarily cost them anything, but are priceless to fans. This level of connection and communication with a fan hasn’t been impossible until now and NFTs play a big role in that. There are ways to change the industry and make it sustainable again. If we don’t try new approaches soon, too many festivals will go out of business.

📢 Huge announcement! 💥 I am super excited to finally share that after all those years working on strengthening the bonds between the music and tech sector with MusicTech Germany, I finally get the chance to organize an event that I wanted to put together for a long time. NEW VISIONS For Music & Sound will be a 2-day conference-like event that focuses entirely on the many opportunities to create the future music ecosystem in the best possible way for everyone involved. What makes this event different from other music conferences is that we invite only visionary people who will share their ideas, visions, and solutions for music and its industry. Instead of discussing the present status quo, complaining about problems of the sometimes unfair and intransparent structures of the music industry, or lamenting about the threats some see in the ever-evolving impact of technology on the music sector, every session will highlight new and different approaches for the (existing and extended) value chain of music. Our speakers will present, and talk about, solutions that everyone will benefit from. Since there would be no music industry without the creative minds of artists and with some of the greatest innovations stemming from them, instead of talking about them, we will make them part of the conversations to share their visions, too. We will also invite exceptional startups to demonstrate their solution live on our innovation-showcase stage. This will also be different from other startup or music (tech) events. No pitches, instead full demonstrations of their products or services. (Call for applications will be online on July 1) Lastly, I would like to mention that the idea for NEW VISIONS is also to provide a platform for people from various backgrounds, sectors, and disciplines to meet with each other outside their natural habitats. I am very happy to join forces with Philipp Grefer (WISE - The Future Festival & Think Tank) for NEW VISIONS to make this event an unforgettable experience that brings together artists, technologists, entrepreneurs, researchers, and people from various areas of the music sector. NEW VISIONS For Music & Sound will happen on September 5 + 6 in Berlin. We will launch the official website next week. Until then, you can find more information here 👉 https://newvisions.berlin/ We still have a few slots available for visionary people to join the program. If you think, you should be part of it, please drop us a line or get in touch with me directly. And if you think your company aligns well with the idea of NEW VISIONS and you would like to partner with us, please also get in touch. I'm very grateful that Senatsverwaltung für Wirtschaft, Energie und Betriebe has awarded our concept for #NEWVISIONS with the prize "Innovatives Veranstaltungsformat 2024" and that Initiative Musik supports us with some additional funding. #music #tech #musictech #musicindustry #innovationn #conference #Berlin #Visionaries

🍻 Cheers to the Music Ally team for this write-up! 💫 Extremely proud of my team and the innovation we are bringing to artists with our new software Booking-Agent.io. 💪 👀 I am getting flashbacks to the early days of launching our first product, PlaylistSupply, and how exciting it was talking to early adopters and seeing their results. Fast forward to today and all of your favorite music marketing iphone apps, playlisting companies, and the greater music industry use data from PlaylistSupply to run their campaigns and assess quality. 😁 Looking forward to the journey ahead for Booking-Agent.io and cannot wait to share some of the new features updates we have planned! Quick snippet from the article: "Startup Innovation Syndicate has launched a new service that aims to help musicians and DJs book more concerts. It’s called Booking-Agent.io, and is described by the company as an “AI-based lead gen tool” that helps performers to get in touch with talent buyers and venues. The platform can be used to search by music artist and find contacts from their past and future booked shows, with a visual map of concerts and venues to aid discovery. The idea is that artists can see where other musicians who are similar to them in genre/style have played, to identify potential venues worth contacting..." https://lnkd.in/gZ7HNhh9

Panel Discussion at ESNS: The Future of MRT in Clubs & Live Music It was an incredible experience to participate in a panel discussion at Eurosonic (ESNS), exploring the future of Music Recognition Technology (MRT) in clubs and the evolution of setlists and setlist reporting in the live sector. The conversation came shortly after our exciting announcement with BumaStemra regarding our DJ-first approach to tracking setlists. With Vollou’s technology, Buma’s top 25 DJs now have tools to automate setlist reporting, making it easier for DJs - who are constantly on the road performing internationally - to report their performances. This collaboration also gives PROs like BumaStemra visibility into what their artists are performing globally, ensuring better transparency and royalty distribution. A major insight was the incredible effort BumaStemra has invested in tracking, reporting, and distributing royalties, successfully covering 82% of licensed events in the Netherlands. From festivals to daycare homes and even hairdressers, BumaStemra's commitment to leveraging MRT technologies sets a benchmark for other PROs to follow. This proactive approach establishes a precedent for how PROs should adapt to new technologies to enhance transparency and ensure fairer distribution for their members. While BumaStemra has excelled in collecting and distributing royalties for performances within the Netherlands, there’s still much to achieve in ensuring international performances are accurately tracked, reported, and distributed. Vollou’s partnership with BumaStemra will play a pivotal role in addressing these challenges for DJs performing internationally. A huge thank you to my fellow panelists Bob Out and Rita Zipora from BumaStemra, Sarah McNabb from Audoo, and Jos Feijen from Effenaar. It was especially valuable to have stakeholders from MRT technologies, PROs, and venues like Effenaar represented on the panel. The diverse perspectives highlighted the unique challenges and opportunities for each group in adopting MRT solutions for the live music sector. The future of setlist reporting and royalty transparency is bright, and collaborations like this are paving the way for a more equitable music ecosystem. #ESNS2025 #MusicTech #MRT #SetlistReporting #RoyaltyTransparency #Vollou #BumaStemra #LiveMusicInnovation #DJs #MusicEcosystem
