While more and more solutions are being tested as prototypes, such as sustainable fuels, thermal energy storage or CCUS, there is still a lack of regular applications in industrial production. As part of our fourth 𝗖𝗹𝗶𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗧𝗲𝗰𝗵 𝗠𝗲𝗲𝘁𝘂𝗽 on 𝗧𝘂𝗲𝘀𝗱𝗮𝘆, 𝗢𝗰𝘁𝗼𝗯𝗲𝗿 𝟴, 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟰, we want to discuss the scaling of climate technologies in the industrial sector and take a look at private and public levers together with politicians and companies. Joined by Thomas Heilmann MdB (CDU/CSU-Bundestagsfraktion), Chairman of the KlimaUnion e.V., Dr. Wei Wu, Co-Founder of Heatrix, and Christian Vollmann, Founder and CEO of C1 Green Chemicals AG, we want to discuss the opportunities and challenges of industrial climate tech innovations. Christoph Frenkel joined today's panel at #HM2024 talking about #ThEEN #innovation #cluster's active role in the #energy #transition and shared his learnings from decarbonization projects with local industries. Our deputy managing director summarized his experiences regarding the transition of the energy supply within industrial companies and industrial parks in three key messages: 1️⃣ Holisitic approach It is essential to regard all energy sectors, sources and transformers (eg. heat pump, green hydrogen) to choose an optimum. Though more complex, the holistic approach saves money in the end. 2️⃣ Cross-company approach Why not ask your neighbour? There are synergy potentials worth realizing within an industrial park (eg. waste heat). To follow this cross-company approach it takes synchronization of different objectives of companies in an iterative process leading to an even more efficient transition plan. 3️⃣ Interdisciplinary approach Walk the walk and talk the talk - but leave your bubble! It is a huge success factor to involve industry, public administration, municipalities and other relevant stakeholders in energy transition projects. Gaining insights in different perspectives and understanding different players and their roles can be a game changer. One of the main goals that humanity should have for the next years is decreasing our carbon footprint and learn to live in a more sustainable way. In Europe our CO2 emissions have already started a slow decrease, but in the emerging economies and developing countries the grouth is vertical and alarming. The energy consumption is responsible for the 77.1% of all the greenhouse gasses and the energy hunger that is predicted for the future can also increase this data. Our association is really close to the topics of decarbonisation, sustainability and innovation and for this reason, the NIMS - Network of Innovation Management and Strategy decided to create a report that combine the previous datas and a financial point of view on how we can help emerging economies to increase their energy infrastructure and, at the same time, reduce their carbon releases. In this research paper, “DECARBONIZATION IN EMERGING COUNTRIES, A BROADER CONCEPTUALIZATION OF INNOVATION FOR PROMOTING NET-ZERO TRANSITION”, thanks to the fundamental help of Peter Hatz, founder of Diligised, they analyse the problem and give a possible financial solution in order to reach these goals and help not only the environment, but also the local comunities.🌿
