The resolution of the Sixth Session of the United Nations Environment Assembly (UNEA6) marks a significant advancement in global efforts to combat air pollution and climate change in Africa. UN member states endorsed the implementation of the Integrated Assessment of Air Pollution and Climate Change for Sustainable Development in Africa and the Africa Clean Air Program, along with other regional air quality initiatives like the Male Declaration. In collaboration with a cross-section of African researchers and partners, including the African Union Commission (AUC), UN Environment Programme and Climate & Clean Air Coalition, we have supported the development and implementation of the Integrated Assessment. SEI York's Kevin Hicks, who helped coordinate the Integrated Assessment, commented: "This is a crucial development as existing regional agreements on air pollution, along with recommendations from assessments such as this one, now have the backing of UN member states for implementation of integrated clean air and climate change actions across the globe. We now need to move towards concerted action." Together with our partners, we also aim to support countries in adopting the AUC's African Clean Air Program by targeting emission reductions in critical sectors. The Program aims to meet important benchmarks including World Health Organization air quality guidelines, the Sustainable Development Goals and Paris Agreement climate change targets. We are excited to share that our team has completed a crucial document that includes the gathering of information for the diagnostic and background chapter of the five sectoral adaptation plans in Chile, considering the minimum content established by the Law and its Regulation.   This milestone is part of our consultancy "Specialist in Climate Change Adaptation to support the development of Sectoral Adaptation Plans to CC" in Chile, within the framework of the Project "the support in the coordination and providing technical oversight for the development of sectoral mitigation plans, adaptation plans, and regional climate change action plans".
