🚨 70 Years of the 1954 Hague Convention: A Broken Promise for Sudan's Cultural Heritage? 🚨 Today marks the 70th anniversary of the 1954 Hague Convention for the Protection of Cultural Property in the Event of Armed Conflict. This landmark agreement established a framework for safeguarding cultural heritage during times of war. ⚠️ However, in Sudan, the ongoing conflict paints a grim picture. Irreplaceable artifacts, historical sites, and intangible cultural practices face constant threats of destruction, damage, looting, and neglect. This reality stands in stark contrast to the principles enshrined in the Hague Convention. 🔴 Sudan's rich cultural heritage is under siege. Museums stand at risk, artifacts are being lost, and age-old traditions are fading. This not only impoverishes the nation's identity but also robs the world of a unique cultural tapestry. 📢 The 1954 Hague Convention serves as a powerful reminder of our collective responsibility to protect cultural heritage during conflict. We must call for a renewed commitment to these principles and urge all parties involved in the Sudanese conflict to respect and safeguard the nation's irreplaceable cultural treasures. #Sudan #CulturalHeritage #HagueConvention #EndangeredHistory #ProtectOurPast #CulturalPreservation #HeritageUnderThreat #SaveSudansHistory #UNESCO #International Council of Museums (ICOM) #CulturalProtection #Blue Shield International #GlobalHeritage #HeritageMatters #International Council on Monuments and Sites (ICOMOS) #ICCROM #Cultural Emergency Response #Smithsonian Cultural Rescue Initiative #ALIPH - International alliance for the protection of heritage in conflict areas #British Council

https://lnkd.in/gwTp72Ys KNOWLEDGE This city vision is as different in Washington State as the Moon is different than the Eath. You can find car bumpers, trash bags, curb weeds the size of small trees, trash, and graffiti everywhere, and inside cities people have put graffiti on street signs, businesses, walls, and light poles. However, the political leaders are paid well. This vision is also present adjacent military installations and their highway exits. I do not think an American clean up day has ever existed. Plus, in Singapore, etc., they use trash to power their city.

The report highlights key points wrt Terror Financing. However I believe issues such as cyber attacks holding government and key private sector institutions ransom, should also be highlighted as a significant concern. This year alone has shown a significant increase in the volume of data breaches, with over 5 key government institutions compromised. The data stolen/deleted or systems held ransom is placing the South African economy and it's people at risk.
The TF NRA for South Africa has been published.
