France hunts terror suspect after fire attack on synagogue: Police were on Saturday (24 August) hunting for a man who, draped in a Palestinian flag, was suspected of setting fires at a synagogue in southern France and triggering an explosion that injured a police officer.

𝐒𝐚𝐬𝐤𝐚𝐭𝐜𝐡𝐞𝐰𝐚𝐧 𝐋𝐚𝐰𝐦𝐚𝐤𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐏𝐚𝐬𝐬 𝐌𝐨𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐭𝐨 𝐁𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐆𝐮𝐧 𝐋𝐚𝐰𝐬 𝐇𝐨𝐦𝐞 With a rare unanimous “yes” vote in the #Saskatchewan legislature, a private members’ motion on guns passed Thursday. The motion from Carrot River Valley MLA Fred Bradshaw calls on the federal government to “devolve” or pass on responsibility for all parts of #TheFirearmsAct to the province so it can administer and regulate gun possession itself. A news release from the Government of Saskatchewan's caucus office said the motion was introduced in response to Bill C-21. The federal bill made changes to the Firearms Act, including putting a freeze on handgun sales, changing the technical definition of an assault-style firearm, and prohibitions against ghost guns. At one point, the bill had included a provision that would have put some hunting rifles and shotguns on a prohibited list, but that was removed. The news release said the changes effectively erased the value of handguns “despite the fact that most handgun crime is committed using illegally trafficked and acquired handguns.” The release said the provincial government won’t “stand idly by as the federal government brands thousands of law-abiding citizens as criminals,” then goes on to clarify that it still does support work to reduce the criminal and illegal use of guns. All of the Saskatchewan Party, Saskatchewan New Democratic Party, and independent members present in the assembly Thursday voted to pass the motion. In Nigeria, as a civilian you can own a gun. Shout out of firearms Acts of 1959.Getting a gun license in Nigeria isn't just about filling a form and walking away. The process is rigorous, involving strict background checks, proof of mental stability, and an exhaustive screening by the Inspector-General of Police. You go too do paperwork 😂 ⬆️ Why do you need it - Self-defense:If you live in those areas with a high crime rate. Let me not mention those places in Lagos 🤲🏼😂 - Hunting or sport: If you're into hunting or sporting events (like skeet shooting), you MAY qualify for a license. You see that may is in capital letters 😂 -High-risk occupation: If you're in law enforcement, or an approved professional, you may also be allowed a firearm for job-related purposes. Ehn this one is reasonable to an extent ⬆️Show You're Not a Risk -Prove you're mentally stable: Do I have to explain this ,😂 but imagine the scenario, God forbid abeg 😭 -Background checks are required to make sure you don’t have a history of violence abi criminal records. The law says: Before you say you want to get a licensed firearm, think about it properly, you really need am?? if I catch you with it illegally that's 14 years Imprisonment oh.😒 If you don't need it stick to pepper spray 😂.
