Wow, can you believe it's already been a whole week? I swear, time flies! Last week, I found myself in Barcelona with Dave Mead for BioEurope Spring. Picture this: a gorgeous city is the backdrop for a group of people eager to mix business with science. And let's not forget the added thrill of knowing about Barcelona's false sense of security (right, Dave?). Our Welcome Reception was at the Museu Marítim de Barcelona – talk about a gorgeous venue, as you can clearly see in the first photo. Shoutout to some familiar faces for making me feel like I was confortable amongst colleagues (Mandeep Sehmi, Ana Rita Ricardo, Philip Cunnah, and Jasmin Bannister). The wine didn't hurt either. Now, onto the main event: BioEurope Spring at the CCIB, where over 1800 companies and 3400 delegates gathered to talk shop. These were long days – starting at 8.30am and wrapping up after 6.30pm. This is if your networking doesn't continue into dinner time - major kudos to Lonza for keeping our bellies full and our networking game strong! Amidst the hustle and bustle, I managed to carve out some quality downtime. Finally putting faces to names at the BioPartner UK stand with Lin Bateson and chilling at the One Nucleus booth. And let's not forget my little slice of Portuguese quality time at the Rodon Biologics stand – obrigado e ate breve! Meeting fascinating people with even more fascinating scientific endeavors was the cherry on top. Not only did we get to flex our scientific team's expertise, but we also got to dream up new ways to use Isogenica Limited's VHHs - yep, we're Building Dreams (trademark pending)! Three marathon days later, and I'm filled with memories, sharpened skills, promising leads, and many new contacts. Now comes the next stage: following up on those potential partnerships (and maybe making the most of our CRM while we're at it). #BioEurope #BusinessDevelopment #science #Barcelona
