Today, the Council of the EU has yet again failed to find a balanced and effective agreement to protect children #online from child sexual abuse. Since negotiations started two years ago, millions of horrific child sexual abuse images and videos have been shared, viewed and downloaded on the internet. Europe's child sexual abuse crisis continues to aggravate. In the meantime, EU leaders are failing #children by delaying the adoption of an effective EU-wide legislation that allows #onlineplatforms to detect, remove and report all forms of sexual abuse, in accordance with the EU Charter and the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child. Children cannot afford any more delays: we will continue working with the Council of the EU to find an agreement that effectively protects children from this crime now and in the future. #ChildSafetyOnline #CSA
