In this exclusive interview for Supercomputing Asia, the newly appointed Chief Architect for Machine Learning at the Swiss National Supercomputing Centre (CSCS) talks about bolstering HPC systems to support more AI-driven applications, the dynamic interplay between the two fields, and the future of AI. “Deep learning is enabled by the availability of massively parallel devices that can train massively parallel models. AI Symposium for Universities - as shared earlier, team IBM (with Nvidia, Red Hat, and SuperMicro) was honored to be part of the TAMU HPC Research Symposium yesterday. Great turnout, as the interest in using AI to deliver real value to the Research community is extremely high. What stood out most was the panel discussion (many thanks to Kevin Nowka, Seth Murray, Frank Lee, and Jim Colson) where the various groups (Engineering, Agriculture, and Health Sciences) shared their views on AI - both the positive and the challenges/risks. The dialogue around AI as a Tool, not an end, along with the understanding that AI is not alive - but something that can create value for people across all the disciplines was truly fascinating - I was thankful to be able to moderate this insightful discussion. #TAMU #IBM #AI #NVIDIA #redhat #Supermicro #research

I’m excited to share that my #zlnn (Liquid Neural Network library) already includes an experimental implementation of IF-COMP. This feature, along with others such as Dynamic Neural Network structure, selectable backends (for hardware acceleration on GPUs and FPGAs), and memory safety (courtesy of Rust and extensive testing/SAST/DAST tools), offers users top-notch algorithms to design their own LLMs, CNNs, and other popular models.
