The TAVI-SMALL 2 registry study explored the use of different transcatheter heart valves in patients with small aortic annuli. It compared the hemodynamic performance and clinical outcomes between self-expanding and balloon-expandable valves. In a trial of 60 patients with Bothrops snakebites, low-level laser therapy (LLLT) combined with antivenom decreased pain intensity scores, extent of edema, and extremity circumference (as compared to the contralateral limb) compared with antivenom alone. LLLT is a promising adjunct to antivenom for local tissue damage from snake envenoming, but more trials and access to equipment are needed before it can be recommended for routine use. I share my first Shockwave case here In 2020 at Institute Arnault Tzanck A 49 years old patient with an inferior myocardial infarction involving an acute occlusion of the right coronary artery. Percutaneous coronary intervention was complicated by balloon’s stent rupture and stent under-deployment into a calcification seen in stent boost enhancement. After failed attempts to post dilate the under deployed stent with: - non-compliant - super high pressure - and cutting balloons --> Shockwave balloon which corrected the stent under deployment after 20 therapies delivered only.
