🧠 Human Brain Matters 🧠 🧠 Global Brain Health Innovations 🧠 Advanced Neurorehabilitation, LLC invented Non-invasive neuromodulation (NINM) for rehabilitation of brain function. In a patient suffering from neural impairment, stimulation is provided to sensory surfaces of the face and/or neck, or more generally to areas of the body that stimulate the trigeminal nerve, while performing an activity intended to stimulate a brain function to be rehabilitated. The simulation may then be continued after the performance of the activity has ceased. It has been found that the patient's activity performance is then improved after stimulation has ceased. Moreover, it tends to improve to a greater extent, and/or for a longer time, when the post-activity stimulation is applied, as compared to when post-activity stimulation is not applied. https://buff.ly/3MvLkGD __ #mentalhealth #brain #health #wellness #humanity #neuroscience #medicine #longivity #HBE #humanbrainexpo #3hbrain #science #AI #brainhealth #ethics #helpfulbrain #innovation #innovationmanagement #events #news #biotech #psychiatry #news #management

30 Days, 30 Syndromes Day 21: Imagine waking up one day to find that one of your hands seems to be acting on its own, performing complex actions without your intention or even against your will. This isn't the plot of a sci-fi movie but a real neurological condition known as Alien Hand Syndrome (AHS). Alien Hand Syndrome (AHS) is a rare and fascinating condition that highlights the complexities of brain function and autonomy. Characterized by the involuntary movement of the hand, which appears to act independently of an individual's control, AHS challenges our understanding of motor control and consciousness. Key Points: Origin: Often resulting from brain surgery, stroke, or infection, AHS underscores the importance of integrated brain function for coordinated movement. Impact on Patients: AHS not only affects physical capabilities but also poses psychological challenges, impacting quality of life. Management Strategies: Adapting to AHS involves both medical and behavioral interventions to mitigate the hand's involuntary actions. #AlienHandSyndrome #Neuroscience #BrainHealth #Neurology #PatientCare #MedicalResearch #HealthcareInnovation #Psychology #NeurologicalDisorders #ProfessionalDevelopment #PsychologyStudents #Syndromes

We are excited to announce the release of our new theme: Neurobehavioural Consequences of Stroke 🧠 Did you know? Stroke is the second leading cause of death globally (after ischaemic heart disease) and is a leading cause of disability around the world. Stroke can result in severe neurobehavioral consequences, including neuropsychiatric symptoms such as depression, also delirium, and cognitive impairment. The nervous system is a complex network of nerves and cells that transmit signals between different parts of the body. It controls and coordinates all bodily functions, including movement, sensation, and thought. It consists of the central nervous system (brain and spinal cord) and the peripheral nervous system (nerves outside the brain and spinal cord). Nervous system can be categorized into two main types: the central nervous system (CNS) and the peripheral nervous system (PNS). Central Nervous System (CNS): The CNS consists of the brain and spinal cord. It's responsible for processing information received from the body's sensory receptors and sending out instructions for response. Peripheral Nervous System (PNS): The PNS includes all the nerves outside of the CNS. It connects the CNS to the rest of the body and is divided into the somatic nervous system and the autonomic nervous system. Somatic Nervous System: Controls voluntary movements and receives sensory information from the skin, muscles, and joints. Autonomic Nervous System: Regulates involuntary bodily functions such as heart rate, digestion, and respiratory rate. It's further divided into the sympathetic and parasympathetic nervous systems, which have opposing functions in regulating physiological responses. #NervousSystem #Neuroscience #Healthcare #Neurology #NeuralNetworks #Neuroplasticity #NeurologicalDisorders #CognitiveScience #BrainHealth #Neuroanatomy #LinkedInCommunity
