This prospective intra-individual study by Milan Vecsey-Nagy confirms the prior simulation results in a real world scenario when patients have been scanned on both energy-integrating and #photoncounting detector CT systems. Phakic Intraocular Lenses (Phakic IOLs) are specialized lenses implanted in the eye to correct vision in individuals with extremely high refractive errors, thin cornea, particularly those who are not ideal candidates for laser eye surgeries like LASIK or PRK. Unlike standard intraocular lenses used after cataract surgery, phakic IOLs are placed in eyes that still have their natural lenses (hence the term "phakic," which refers to the presence of the natural lens). Procedure: - Phakic IOL implantation is an outpatient procedure performed under local anesthesia. - A small incision is made in the cornea to insert the lens, which is folded and then unfolded inside the eye. - It is a reversible procedure, meaning the lens can be removed or replaced if needed. Advantages: - Reversibility: Unlike LASIK, which permanently reshapes the cornea, phakic IOLs can be removed or exchanged if necessary. -Preservation of the cornea: The cornea is left untouched, which is beneficial for patients with thin or irregular corneas. 👏 Exciting news – results of the PVISION study have been published in EP Europace! PVISION, a prospective multicenter study, assessed PVI Analyzer, our automated AI-based algorithm. Designed to accurately determine vein isolation status, this algorithm underwent rigorous review against expert opinion in real-world clinical settings. 𝘼𝙣𝙙 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙧𝙚𝙨𝙪𝙡𝙩𝙨: The study validated our automated algorithm using machine learning to assess the isolation status of pulmonary veins in patients undergoing PVI with different ablation modalities. 🎯 The algorithm reached an AUC of 92% with both sensitivity and specificity exceeding the primary study endpoints.
