AXREM hands over funds raised to Alzheimer’s Research UK. The AXREM executive committee and Future Leaders Council met in London in December to present a cheque for more than £3,500 to Alzheimer’s Research UK regional fund-raising officer Lucy Bedford, who has worked with AXREM throughout 2024. Masco Canada is donating $50,000 to the St. Thomas Elgin Hospital (STEGH) Foundation, located in St. Thomas, Ont. The donation will support the hospital’s $8 million "Transforming Tomorrow Diagnostic Imaging" campaign, which will affect the diagnostic imaging department at St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital and bring an MRI machine and associated care closer to home for residents.

SOCAN: A Lifeline for Cardiac-Afflicted Children Cardiac disease is a leading killer among children, but advancements in surgery and interventional technology offer hope—90% can live a full life, while 10% can live longer and better. However, treatment remains prohibitively expensive, with 40% unable to afford it. SOCAN (Solution for Cardiac Afflicted Needy) addresses this challenge through a Public-Private Partnership that ensures quality care and dignity. Collaborating with skilled professionals, Public Health Centre (PHC) hospital, and Hearts for Hearts (H4H), a Public Charitable Trust, SOCAN project has already performed 460 life-saving surgeries. A sustainable model is envisioned through a ₹5 crore corpus fund, generating ₹50 lakhs annually to support surgeries. To mark January’s #GlaucomaAwareness Month, Bausch + Lomb and the Glaucoma Research Foundation (GRF) have launched the second annual “Faces of Glaucoma” campaign, an initiative that shares patient stories + educational resources to raise awareness of #glaucoma.
