Has anyone else noted the instructional note under HTN emergency now states to "use an additional additional note to identify the associated organ dysfunction: I60.-, I6.1-, I6.2.-", thereby providing sequencing instruction. However, the codebook still states "For hypertensive cerebrovascular disease, first assign the appropriate code from Categories I60-I69, followed by the appropriate hypertension code". Assuming the instructional note applies based on coding hierarchy, but this seems like a major oversight in the codebook. Am I missing something?

Today's webinar gave me an insight into one of the latest studies that will be published by the European Association next week. Speaker Dr. Pratley, shared the results of a new meta-analysis that reviewed multiple studies where using GLP-1RA or SGLT2i together with combination therapy with other medications showed positive results and could be helpful for people with type 2 diabetes and heart or kidney problems. Using GLP-1RA or SGLT2i is a good option for those who are older, overweight, have high cholesterol, high blood pressure, smoke, have a big heart, or have protein in their urine. For example, If someone with diabetes also has kidney problems, using GLP-1RA along with SGLT2i might be better for their kidneys. These interventions demonstrated important diabetes numbers, like HbA1c, FPG, and insulin levels to get better overall. So this would be a great recommendation for PCPs while still providing regular diabetes care altogether. #healtheducation #DiabetesManagement #HealthImprovement #ComplementaryTherapies #diabeteseducator #BetterDiabetesCare #HealthierOutcomes #ManageDiabetesBetter #DiabetesSupport #HealthierLifestyle #DiabetesCare #ImprovedHealth #HealthAndWellness #DiabetesAwareness #HealthyLiving #WellnessJourney #HealthTips
