If you like Scotch Whisky but have never tried it at 'Cask Strength', it's a revelation. Most Scotch that you buy from the Supermarket, it's bottled at 40 ABV. This means, most of it is Water. It's ALREADY been watered down (not using water from a Highland Burn, beside the Distillery), usually filtered (taking the tasty stuff out) and had colouring (perfectly legal) added to it. Nothing wrong with this but all the 'add a few drops of water' is baloney. You'd be better adding a couple of 'rocks' of ice, like the Americans do. That's how I drink bog-standard stuff. A nice crystal glass, nice ice. Scotch was designed to be drunk like this, especially 'blended' stuff, like Johnnie Walker or Chivas Regal. Most 40 ABV Scotch, even Single Malt, is better drunk like this. Ignore the old farts. Cask stuff is MILES stronger and for all sorts of 'chemistry' reasons, better. But mainly, because it's stronger! It contains more alcohol. It's a totally different experience. For the REAL Scotch Whisky Truth, you should always drink Scotch that's not been messed-about with. #ScotchWhiskyTruths
I recently renewed my membership in the Scotch Malt Whisky Society (SMWS) and took the option to include a “mystery bottle” in the package. It seemed a helluva deal. Annual membership normally costs £75. Renewal with a mystery bottle was £90. That’s a bottle of a single cask, single malt for £15. I’m not one to pass up such an opportunity and was delighted when Cask No 93.209 dropped through my door – a whisky from Glen Scotia, no less. https://lnkd.in/eQ58vjJZ

Stewart & Robertson presents a unique opportunity to invest in fractional ownership of The Macallan 1990 PX Sherry Cask, one of Scotland’s rarest whiskies. With the global demand for high-end Scotch on the rise and supply remaining limited, the price of mature whisky has soared. Investors have the option to purchase units priced at £12,000 (equivalent to 3 bottles), with a potential exit opportunity in 2030 at £22,000-£24,000 per bottle, offering a projected return on investment of up to 500%. The investment is managed through bonded storage, insured, and meticulously documented, providing a rare opportunity to capitalise on the expanding luxury whisky market. The Round ⭕ Stewart & Robertson is raising £989k to complete the sale of the remaining cask shares, with 50% already subscribed. The funds will be allocated to storage, insurance, and ensuring an optimal market exit in 2030. Scotch whisky has a rich history dating back to the late 15th century, when it was first distilled in Scotland. The earliest recorded mention of whisky production in #Scotland comes from 1494, in a tax document where malt was sent to Friar John Cor to make "aqua vitae," the Latin term for "water of life." Over the centuries, whisky-making evolved from a cottage industry into a major commercial endeavor. By the 17th century, Scotch whisky was well-established, though much of it was produced illicitly due to heavy taxation. In 1823, the Excise Act legalized distillation in exchange for a license fee, leading to a boom in production and the development of famous distilleries. Scotch #whisky is defined by strict regulations, including the requirement that it must be aged in oak barrels for at least three years, contributing to its complex flavors and global reputation. Today, it is a symbol of Scottish heritage and one of the world’s most beloved spirits. www.DistributorPost.com #business #articles #beverage #industry #management #marketing #digitalmarketing #innovation

🌍🥃 Cheers to Progress! 🇧🇷Brazil has officially recognized Scotch whisky with protected status, a monumental move for the industry. 🏦This legal recognition, secured during the UK's pre-election period in June, is set to open doors for Scotch distillers in Brazil, South America's largest economy. 🕵️♂️The Department for Business and Trade estimates that this "geographical indication" could be worth around £25m over the next five years, making it easier to tackle counterfeits and boost confidence among distillers. 💼This milestone is a testament to the enduring global appeal of Scotch whisky, now fortified by legal protection. 📈As trade relations strengthen, we can expect more opportunities for growth in the region. 🥂Here’s to the continued success of Scotch whisky on the world stage! #ScotchWhisky #Brazil #GlobalTrade #WhiskyLovers #LegalVictory #ExportOpportunities #SpiritsIndustry #EconomicGrowth #RareWhisky #SteadmanChase

If you're watching the Official narrative, you'll think that there are 'about' 20 million maturing Casks of Scotch Whisky, all over Scotland. That's what we're told. I used to think that myself, until I started visiting them and I began speaking to Scotch Whisky Experts. There are dozens (hundreds?) of Scotch Whisky Maturation places in Scotland, from Dumfriesshire, to Shetland. Every Distillery has one. There are 145 Distilleries. Some of the other ones are absolutely vast. So-much-so, that with a couple of Whisky Geeks, I began compiling a list of them. It soon proved, without too much effort and using existing figures, there are many more than we're told. HMRC, they know EXACTLY how many Casks there are. As it's a heavily-taxed item, they have to. It's what they are there for. For some reason, they won't tell you? Any idea why? I've got a rough idea and it centres around the premise that there are more than we're told. A lot more. Even 'insiders' at the Scotch Whisky Association have told me, in unguarded moments, there are 'about 40 million'. Double what we're told. Fair enough. However, without wanting to be alarmist, senior Scotch Whisky Industry 'insiders' have told me, it's even MORE than this. When I see ANOTHER one opening, with rather a large capacity (and budget) it makes me wonder, are we EVER going to be told the truth? WHY are we undervaluing an already massive resource, by 200%? Good question. #ScotchWhiskyTruths.
