Honored to have been invited as a guest speaker at 34th Annual #MUNISH Conference, the Model UN at the International School of The Hague where I addressed the pressing topic of “Militarization and Weaponization of Space”. It was a privilege to engage with young leaders and future diplomats from across Europe, discussing the differences between the terms militarization and weaponization of space, which are often used interchangeably. I also highlighted the growing importance of space, current key concerns, complex global challenges surrounding space security, the evolving role of space technology in defense, the need for international cooperation, and the critical importance of understanding international relations and geopolitics. The discussions were insightful, and I was impressed by the enthusiasm and intellectual curiosity of the participants. It’s inspiring to see the upcoming generation of leaders so invested in space diplomacy, space sustainability, global unity, and pressing space security issues. I am grateful for the opportunity to inspire and educate the next generation of leaders and diplomats. My 3 key takeaways : 1. Militarization vs. Weaponization : Understanding the distinction between militarization and weaponization is crucial for addressing global security challenges effectively. 2. Space in Global Security : As space becomes an increasingly strategic domain, international cooperation is essential to ensure its peaceful and sustainable use. 3. The Criticality of the Role of Space Diplomats : Diplomats play a vital role in shaping space policy, leveraging their expertise to foster global cooperation and prevent conflict in this critical frontier. Looking forward to continued conversations on this important topic! #SpaceDiplomacy #ModelUN #UnitedNations #SpaceSecurity #GlobalSecurity #InternationalRelations #InternationalSpaceCollaboration #SpaceGovernance #MilitarizationOfSpace #Diplomacy #Peacebuilding #FutureLeaders #PublicSpeaking

During the summer of 2024, a small cohort of undergraduate students will be invited to participate in a 10-week seminar that will meet one evening a week. During these weekly seminar meetings at IWP’s campus, American Statecraft Fellows will learn about, and discuss, the how as well as the why of statecraft and strategy with IWP’s own faculty. Topics will include not only intelligence, counterintelligence, military strategy, political warfare, economic statecraft, diplomacy, and the national security policy process itself, but also the founding principles of America for the sake of which these instruments of national power are integrated into a grand strategy. https://lnkd.in/ec4f5xQz

With U.S. President Donald Trump's recent inauguration, CFBIU is pleased to share an important new publication from two of Bar-Ilan University's most distinguished scholars on international relations and strategic studies. This comprehensive analysis of how a second Trump presidency could reshape the global strategic landscape has been authored by Prof. Eitan Shamir, Managing Director of BIU's Besa Center, and Prof. Jonathan Rynhold, head of BIU's Department of Political Studies. What makes this analysis particularly valuable is the combination of Prof. Shamir's military strategic perspective and Prof. Rynhold's expertise in Israeli-American diplomatic relations. Their collaborative work provides a sophisticated framework for understanding the potential strategic implications of major geopolitical shifts. Read the full report here: https://lnkd.in/eUyxbmFQ

The Grade 3C Class assembly focused on the theme of Courage and Bravery, guided by the quote: “True courage is not the absence of fear, but the strength to face it. Bravery is taking action, even when the outcome is uncertain. Every step you take with courage brings you closer to your goals.” The students highlighted the importance of courage and bravery in all situations they encounter. They shared the message through a song, a thought for the day, and by connecting it to the UAE Vision 2031. This vision aims for global leadership in fields like space tech and AI, fostering a courageous society and peaceful diplomacy.
