It was good to be back at Invest Europe's Investors’ Forum. I enjoyed a great panel discussion with Jim Strang, Elias Korosis (Corossis), and Hani El Khoury on the strategic shifts taking place in allocations, and how Europe fits into the global allocation framework.   At AlpInvest Partners, we always advise a diversified portfolio to our clients, and we think European buyouts can easily make up a significant portion of a global #PrivateEquity portfolio.   It is a large segment that allows investors to deploy significant amounts of capital: buyouts in Europe represent around 35% of global private equity deal volume and, importantly, the region’s returns are less than perfectly correlated with other large segments like global buyouts and the US middle market, so allocating to Europe can help with portfolio diversification. Also, the data shows that private equity in Europe has performed just as well as in the US. We believe therefore that if investors are seeking equity exposure in Europe, private equity can be an effective way of accessing those returns.   Thank you once again to Invest Europe for hosting this year’s event! #InvForum24
