🌉 In the first installment of our brand new series, "#ESRBridges", Marc Dewey, MD et al. imagine a world where we could detect coronary artery disease (CAD) in its early development using CT, thus changing the way CAD is diagnosed and treated, as well as improving patient outcomes. Through collaborative efforts between everyone from radiologists and cardiologists to statisticians and engineers, this article lays out how CT can truly build bridges in CAD. #Atrialfibrillation and all things #electrophysiology are near and dear to my heart, so I'm thrilled to highlight Lucem Health's latest white paper that digs into the issues around AFib under-diagnosis and how digital solutions can boost early detection.
Atrial Fibrillation (AF) often escapes diagnosis, posing a substantial risk of stroke and heart failure. But what if technology could change that? In our white paper, we unfold: ✔️ The pressing issue of AF underdiagnosis ✔️ How automated ECG analysis and EHR integration boosts early detection ✔️ The promise of digital tools in transforming cardiac care ➡️ Download the White Paper: https://lnkd.in/gKvuMTDE
Illuminating the Hidden Burden of Atrial Fibrillation

"Please breathe in!" This is a phrase you will usually hear from the radiologist when taking a CT scan of your lungs. However, research shows that it is not as simple as that, in practice. Non-standardized inhalation during the CT scan though, can often paint an inaccurate picture of an airway disease, depending on patient's lung volume at the point of the image capture. According to this study conducted with bronchus-artery analysis, lung volume standardization measures should be implemented to optimize the sensitivity of the measurements. This means that patients should be properly trained to inhale to their maximum capacity in advance, in order to standardize the sensitivity of the information captured by the scan. Old habits die hard. Such an adage is true from a clinical perspective. In terms of retinal vascular disease, I’d say we are likely going to be reliant on fluorescein angiography for the near future. However, there will come a day when injecting dye into a patient’s arm and taking subsequent sequences of fundus photos to diagnose a disease, stage a disease state, or monitor a patient’s response to treatment will no longer be necessary. #vision #optometry 360care.com LEARN MORE: https://lnkd.in/gfUvuzd6

📥 A new Read & Share case shared by Marcus Wiemer and Dan Pascut is online! 👨A 38-year-old man with class III angina was referred for coronary angiography following a positive myocardial perfusion scan. 🔎The angiogram showed functionally occluded PDA as well as significant disease in the proximal, mid, and distal RCA. After wiring and predilating PDA, TIMI-III flow in PDA was observed. How would you treat this patient? Vote in the poll➡️https://bit.ly/49PZMDb
