New study from Matthias Lembrechts et al. analyzes abdominal aneurysm sac thrombus density and volume on CT following endovascular aneurysm repair (EVAR). They observed an increase in thrombus density of the aneurysm sac after EVAR in patients with and without endoleak, but moreso in patients with endoleak. #EuropeanRadiologyExperimental 🔗 https://buff.ly/4gq4k71

In a trial of 60 patients with Bothrops snakebites, low-level laser therapy (LLLT) combined with antivenom decreased pain intensity scores, extent of edema, and extremity circumference (as compared to the contralateral limb) compared with antivenom alone. LLLT is a promising adjunct to antivenom for local tissue damage from snake envenoming, but more trials and access to equipment are needed before it can be recommended for routine use. This reel explains primary angioplasty, a minimally invasive procedure that can open a blocked artery during a heart attack. We'll break down: 1. What happens during a heart attack? A blocked artery cuts off blood flow to your heart muscle. 2. How primary angioplasty works: A tiny catheter is inserted to open the blockage and restore blood flow. Why time is critical! The sooner you receive treatment, the better the outcome. https://lnkd.in/g8_tFf39 #HeartAttack #PrimaryAngioplasty #MinimallyInvasive #SaveYourHeart #ActFast #kauveryhospitalradialroad

Arterial Catheter is a catheter for arterial access inserted by the Seldinger technique. Although it can be inserted in a variety of arteries, the most common sites for the placement of this catheter are the radial and the femoral artery. The Seldinger technique makes arterial puncture easier particularly in hypotensive patients with a weak peripheral pulse and when arteries are atherosclerosed or narrow. #ClearCath #ArterialCatheter #MedicalDevices #NTMDevices

💡Low perfusion in pulse oximetry performance for people with darker skin. A recent study from a leading UCSF hypoxia lab clarifies the impact of low perfusion on pulse oximetry performance for people with darker skin. The data show that Nellcor™ technology missed 7.9% of occult hypoxemic events, and Masimo missed 30.2% of events during low perfusion in volunteers with dark skin pigmentation. 👇Transbaffle Puncture for Mapping and Ablation of Arrhythmia in TGA patients After Mustard Correction👇 #EPeeps Here is an overview of one of my favorite procedures: arrhythmia ablation after Mustard correction (In 6 steps): 👉 Step 1: Perform baffle angiography. 👉 Step 2: Monitor pressure during puncture of the lower portion of the baffle. 👉 Step 3: Insert the wire into the RSPV. 👉 Step 4: Advance the sheath over the wire into the pulmonary venous atrium. 👉 Step 5: Introduce the mapping catheter into the RSPV (and carefully assess the signals). 👉 Step 6: Perform angiography of the RSPV. 👉 Final Step: Enjoy the procedure! 👈 Philipp Sommer Stephan Molatta Dr.med.
