“…users should never configure their [ICS] assets to be directly connected to the public-facing internet.” This is not new advice, and hasn’t been for many years. And yet we still see it happen: ICS systems are placed in internet-facing networks with minimal protections in place to limit access to them. Equally, it’s not a simple an issue to solve; a lot of these systems can’t just be disconnected from their current network and wired in somehwhere else…not without breaking things. (And by things, I mean “production”.)
