#Glut1Deficiency Syndrome is a #raredisease. It is thought that there are around 100 diagnosed cases in the UK and Ireland. Recent studies have estimated true prevalence to be at least 1:21,000, so the vast majority of individuals remain undiagnosed. Bringing awareness to rare diseases is critical it helps to focus attention on the specific challenges faced by those affected and their families, from struggling to receive the correct diagnosis to limited knowledge among healthcare professionals, people often struggle for support. In the retrospective study of the UK National Registry of Rare Kidney Diseases (RaDaR), researchers evaluated whether the traditional target of proteinuria reduction in #IgAnephropathy (#IgAN) is reasonable for reducing the risk of developing kidney failure. The long-term outcomes of patients with IgAN from RaDaR showed that most patients progressed to kidney failure within 10-15 years, regardless of the age of diagnosis. What was even more striking is that the analysis demonstrated that less than 1 gram per day of proteinuria still correlated with kidney failure within 10 years of diagnosis.  At Travere, we are committed to making a difference in the lives of people with #RareKidneyDisease. 

Predicting the future course of Irritable Bowel Disease (#IBD), a condition that affects millions of people worldwide, is challenging.
