🧂 🩺 Iodine Deficiency Awareness As illustrated in the WHO and IGN report, insufficient intake results in iodine deficiency, thyroid disorders and, during pregnancy, risk of lasting intellectual impairment that reduces a child’s IQ. Lifestyle choices and dietary trends are contributing to persistent, and in some countries increased, insufficient iodine intakes. Salt iodization remains the main strategy to ensure adequate iodine intake in the European Region.  Ensuring the use of iodized salt in all food products is a simple yet effective measure to safeguard our health. Addressing Challenges in Small-Scale Salt Farming in Africa: Enhancing Accessibility to Iodine In the realm of small-scale salt farming across Africa, one of the predominant challenges lies in ensuring access to essential iodine. Despite the efforts of NGOs to distribute iodine, many local salt producers often find themselves without access to this crucial resource. At Japaks-Eli Company Limited Salt Farm, we recognize the critical importance of iodine in promoting public health. As we strive to innovate and enhance our operations, we are committed to integrating solutions that improve accessibility to iodine within our salt production processes. This initiative not only supports our local communities but also aligns with global health objectives, ensuring that our products contribute positively to nutrition and well-being. Through collaboration with stakeholders and leveraging sustainable practices, we aim to set a precedent in the industry by not only producing high-quality salt but also addressing fundamental health needs. Together, we can foster a healthier future for Africa's salt farming communities. #SaltFarming #Sustainability #Health #AfricaDevelopment #IodineAccessibility EUsalt
